Fix my gun / Modding I turned my 10/22 into a TM-22
Still building this one out so only a quick one here. I can’t wait to post the “and now I have two rifles” post in a couple more weeks. 😭 (this is the Fletcher RifleWorks OpenTop 11/22 Takedown Receiver).

I have had about 5-10 light strikes in 2000rds

I had a bunch of light strikes , ran the bolt hard a few times then perfect. AAAAND the safety stopped working.

Was this the derya, plastic, ria, traditional stock, sbr? I know some of these models have qc problems. I have the original derya 18in aluminum one and it works fine

I’ve got a pro 12 and haven’t encountered a single issue in 4K rounds. Mostly the bulk CCI that come in milk cartons.

That's a QC control issue that is warrantable. After warranty I haven't had a single failure.

I always found this design interesting because it makes cleaning and bolt installation far easier. But I'm also curious about how well the optics hold zero with every reinstall.

Worth it just for not having to fiddlefuck around with the 10/22 charging handle/guide rod install during reassembly. It would be interesting to see a side by side comparison of return to zero with this design vs the TM22.

It’s pretty easy to install the charging handle once you know the feel, or if you have the charging handle install tool from TandemKross/Gunsmither. There are 3D printed versions of the tool too but I don’t know the durability.
I considered the Fletcher too, but the 10/22 doesn’t need to be cleaned that often 😓 (haha)

My too-tight TK buffer and TK trigger with like three extra screws are even more reasons why I prefer this setup! I actually have the TK gunsmither tool and although it isn’t really needed for removal I do find it helpful for reinstall. The absolute worst is the Adler RF-224 receiver however, that one is practically designed to slice your fingers lol

Reinstalling the bolt and charging handle on an RF-224 is as bad as or worse than a 10/22 PLUS sharper edges. Can concur. TM-22 is def easier but you're disturbing zero and wearing out the aluminum where the screws thread.

Yeah the scariest thing is how thin the TM-22 receiver is. My RF-224 is always falling apart now because all the pins and screws are super loose. The buffer pin slides right through

So you want misfires every magazine lol

Yeah my particular TM-22 doesn’t have an issue with light strikes, but it can’t feed hollow points lmao

Backwards evolution theory except everything gets turned into a tm22 instead of a crab

One day the rogue AI just decided to turn everything into TM-22s, but r/Canadaguns had already beaten it to the punch! Ha!!

Canadagun’s motto should be like “buy your twelfth gun first”
