Fix my gun / Modding Barrel/choke damage?

I was tightening my Mossberg and the choke tool slipped, is it safe to shoot with the burring at the end of the barrel and inside the choke tube? I’m running my finger tip across it and it’s stopping since it’s a little deep.

Forget it ever happened. A couple rounds down the pipe and it’ll be smooth again

Ya your good. Send it.

You will have a choke in it so nothing will contact it much and even so a crack would be more concerning or an obstruction

Send a 12gauge slug down there to smooth it out.

This. Assuming you have the correct choke.

Sent rifled slugs out of a full choke on several occasions when I was younger. 0 issues to date, the lead reforms as it enters the choke. I don't do it now but for OP to send A slug through even a factory steel full choke, there would realistically be no issue

That’s fair, but no point in risking it. Also newer built budget shotguns have come down in quality. I’m sure the barrel on the one you don’t as a kid is probably better than what comes with these nowadays.

I mean the one I had when I was a kid was literally made in 2018, the first gun I bought lol. I'd hope mossbergs quality hasn't crashed in 8 years lol. I will say my 590 A1 is very nicely made and it was one made 2 years ago

Yes, true. I just assumed it was.

All safe! Shoot away!

Should be fine, a small dent like that would only rub up against the wad and not affect the shot.

So many people here act as if these guns are made of glass 🤣
