Fix my gun / Modding Non permanent picatinny rail options for SKS

Post image

Just picked up this baby. I love it the look of it as is but would love to add a scope and maybe a front grip if possible?
Does anyone know of any non permanent picatinny rail options?

Thanks in advance

Back in my day we bought a shitty receiver cover on Amazon, dremeled it until it fit poorly, hurt ourselves badly in the process, “fuck that’s not sitting right”, “I’m bleeding”, “product is outside of Amazon return window”, world goes dark

Magwedge has several options, they are quite simple.

Just get the bad ace rear sight mini rail and mount a small dot, forget about the rest

Scope mounting on the Sks is usually a pretty permanent change unless you are mounting a red dot on a rear sight pic rail as for mounting a forward grip you’d wanna buy a new chassis for that

Neumann Metalworks has a site block optic mount that should be reversible. He has a 1913 top handguard for a far forward mounted scope, but I'm not sure how well the top handguard holds zero.

Just so you know, iron sights are the best for these things. If you need magnification to hit what you want, the scope won't help

I have an sks receiver cover by Ncstar which replaces the top receiver plate with a raised pic rail with three pic rails

that is a completely bogus optic mount

known to not hold zero, too tall, useless side rails, etc.

And you can see through the back at your rail sight

No need to change the stock either I just prefer mine tactical
