I mean I have seen worse. Did the bayonet lug come chopped off already?

The lug is still there, just never had it. I bought it off some farmer who already butchered it and just threw it out along with the wood furniture. Only SKS I've ever had the urge to start tinkering with

How much are you wanting to mod it? When I worked at Pearce one of the mods that was done was changing the angle of the cut on the receiver where the ejection occurs from a roughly 45° to 90°, apparently it would affect the ejection path of the shell, which might help in situations where a top rail and optic is present. Personally none of my SKS’s are modded besides hockey tape on one of them and a light mounted with zipties.

Don't think I really need to fuck with the ejection path. I have the magwedge rail with a stripper clip cutout installed because my shells shoot pretty much straight up. It holds zero really well and haven't noticed any dings from shells slamming into it yet
