Misc Fitment for Tikka T3 Hunter 30-06

Not looking to spend a bunch on chassis for my Tikka T3 in 30-06.. I've heard Tikka uses same size action for SA and LA calibres.. what is the difference between the SA and LA chassis systems from MDT

Because it switches over to aics magazines, the magazine should differ. Tikka factory magazines for short actions use a block in them with the same stock. You'll need the LA for 30-06

The first picture. Says "LA" - make sure you do not order SA - I almost made this mistake

I have the field stock. Note that it is HEFTY. I would NOT want to do any hiking with a gun in this stock. I'm sure it'd be fine if your blind hunting but it adds a substantial amount of weight.

I have a 270 T3x super light in the field stock. I emailed MDT and they told me to purchase the long action stock. It fits my 270 action perfectly.

One thing I didn’t foresee; the Tikka long action cartridges take a specific mag length (3.560”). MDT only stocks a 5 round mag in that length and I can’t find a 3 rounder anywhere else. It protrudes from the bottom of the mag well which makes it a bit bulky for hunting/ bush carrying. I’d much prefer a chassis with bottom metal or a flush mount magazine.
