Feets / Collection / My build I made a thingy
Inspired by my hammerli sp20 rrs and pardini sp I made this gloriously oversized version for 308.
Essentially the weight's inertia fights the rifle movement, stores some of the recoil energy in the spring and distributes in longer period of time, compare to just adding the same amount of dead weight imagine a 10lb rifle hits your shoulder vs a 8lb rifle does that and additional 2lb come in 1ms later, this is of course very oversimplified. Adding some heavy grease later will probably turn some of that stored energy into heat.
judging from how much the spring was compressed it reduced the peak recoil force by about 60lbf, which is about 10-15%, for a gun that doesn't care about weight aka a prs rig this might work pretty well, especially unlike a very aggressive brake it makes no extra concussion

Very nice! Which range is this by the way?
