Gun and gear reviews How some Canadians companies stand by their product.
With Sterling Arms standing up for themselves against the prohibited classification the RCMP put on the R9, and winning, it got me thinking about the Crusader Arms Crypto. Those guys came out with a rifle that met the new laws, then pumped out a bunch of beyond subpar rifles with worse than Chinese QC. Made a pile of cash and as soon as it was banned, did nothing to stand up for their product. Instead created another piece of garbage.
Not to just bash CA (well, maybe a little, actually a lot), we now have seen what a good Canadian firearms manufacturer does. Makes a product, stands by it, then fights for it. Their win, to me anyway, shows what companies we should actually support.
After CA removed their website, blocks peoples comments on Instagram that comment the issues they have with their new Backland Hunter rifles I am genuinely shocked anyone can still support them by giving them a dime.
Anyway, I'm kind of curious what other people's thoughts are on CA doing nothing to fight for the rifle they developed, that also being a fight for their customers base. Especially now that we have seen Sterling Arms having being successful with their R9 reclassification. Will this maybe get them to take a stance for the crypto classification?

I called out cringesader for deleting all the negative reviews in their comment section, and they blocked me.
If a brand has to hide criticism to look good, the product speaks for itself.
Personally I will never buy anything from Crusader.

While first off it is nice to see JR do something that can be seen as a net positive for the community as a whole (setting a good precedent for other manufacturers to follow). I am sure there will be some bashing somewhere in this thread eventually. Many Canadian manufacturers do stand by their products (Cadex, Pristine, KS, RDSC if you want to include them, etc.) the problem is whenever we face a new ban or set of regulatory changes people are so quick to line up for an alternative that we don’t give manufacturers time to iron out the kinks before bringing something to market. It is still the governments fault we are in this mess to begin with don’t get me wrong. Regardless we cannot hope to get a truly viable replacement for the Stoner system based rifles. (AR-15, 18/180, 10, and all the Canadian specific NR rifles that have since been made and banned) Unless we can get a rifle like the Carmel or similar that is backed by a company that has its rifle on multiple markets internationally, and millions into R&D into it can we expect to see Canadian companies start behaving like they used to and truly standing behind what they make. This isn’t me defending CA in the slightest, I truly despised how they have handled things in the last 2-3 years. Just my opinion though

The problem with the Crypto is that CA promoted them as being compliant with Bill C21's magazine capacity rule (i.e. not designed to hold more than 5 rounds) but the Crypto wasn't compliant with the 2020 OIC by basically being an AR variant with proprietary mags. So the Crypto was doomed from the beginning.

I think you should be careful about this comparison.
We´ve all seen how insane the Canadian system is with it´s literal time travel decisions (a gun designed before another gun was determined to be a variant of the 2nd gun), completely incoherent application of the rules and banning by name etc.
I´m really glad SAI won their argument, but the track record of the ATRS and the general "Fuck you the rules only count when I want them to" attitude of the government & RCMP means that it´s a really difficult decision to commit a huge amount of time and money to.

I don't think the Crypto will get reclassified, It's, and let's be real here, it's an AR-15 with a proprietary mag well and recievers, recivers, mind you, have altered cam pin pocket dimensions which leads to catastrophic failures in the form of the bolt locking in place from premature cam pin movement.
And the shadyness from Cringesader is nothing new, even when their Gen 1 POS teemplar rifles were out people would call them out for khyber pass quality and soviet war time machining as well as operational failures, and same thing, they would delete and block anything negative about them online. I remember one guy ordering his gen 2 Templar from cringesader, full price of course, and when they send him the rifle the machining was rough, fit and finish was really bad as in unfinished edges, patchy coating, as well as apprentice marks all over the thing, laser engraving being off of center on parts, and when he reached out to Cringesader saying essentially " wtf why did you charge me full price for an absolute blemish model, I would like a partial refund in lieu of a blemish model discount or a new better QC rifle" Cringesader essentially told him to pound sand and that their sad excuse of finishing is just what it do.
And one more point, it's really cool the R9 is getting declassified as a pistol and the RC9 is awaiting it's FRT status, but I kinda hoped that the R9 being declassified would have been the end sterling in Canada... only because JR Cox is the leader of the whole operation and he got the Swiss Arms Classic Green and CZ 858 banned just because he was jealous and wanted to be the sole importer of them instead of his old business partners (who kicked him out) being the primary importers of said arms
