In a statement to CBC News, police said the officer was alone at the time, and the bullet went through a wall and damaged an adjoining residence. No injuries were reported.
"I saw the gunshot originating from [the neighbour's] window, but I was like, 'Well, maybe we had a hailstorm,'" Aleysha said. "There's no way that an RCMP officer shot the house and we don't know about it."
No one was home at the time of the incident other than the couple's pets, and no one was injured.

Imagine what would happen if any of us law abiding gun owners did this. We’d have been in handcuffs the same day. This happened months ago, and they’re only following up with the victims now? Insane

It would be a high profile media moment with the grabber crowd foaming at the mouth. Between this and the cop casually leaving their gun in the mall changeroom, Canada's finest continue to be less than fine but with tons of authority and zero accountability.

I love how that article makes those guys read as terrorists. All legal firearms and ammo, the “explosives” are tannerite targets, and the charges were improper storage, besides the idiot shooting of course. And yet now you think the police stopped a Bond villain

Says right in the article they had prohibited magazines… at best case they thought they were above the rules and are giving a bad name to gun owners everywhere.
Also, someone storing that much tannerite in an apartment is one more reason you’d never catch me living in anything other than a detached single family home.

In that moment you wouldn't be law abiding...but yeah, they'd come for what you got and put you on probation at the very least. Especially if you failed to report in the hopes of not being found out like this horse pig preferred.

There's a great book out called Anatomy of a Cover-up about just how fucked the RCMP response and their reaction since has been. Protect the Buffalo is their unofficial motto and it keeps showing its true self. It should be more embarrassing and reformatory, but shit like this just keeps happening.

That's what irks me the most. She made no effort to report or even check if there was anyone injured. Then essentially brow beat her neighbour that it wasn't a big deal because she wasn't home.

(Sarcasm) it's obviously a fault of the firearm and it has to be defective, USA lawsuits have brought this issue up numerous times with the GLOCk pistol. It simply fires when the trigger is pulled... Very unsafe... Who makes a gun that can go off if you don't follow your highly skilled and professional training?

Honestly, the lack of an external manual safety is why I have never owned a Glock. Every pistol I have ever owned(outside of old revolvers) has had a manual safety of some sort.

Glock is the town bicycle of the firearms world, would you go steady with the town bicycle? How about marrying the town bicycle, sure it fucks, but the experience is underwhelming, especially compared to better engineered and more attractive town bicycles…like CZ75 variants & derivatives.

Wdym handled internally? Off-duty rcmp is considered a civilian and if a civilian fired off a shot at home and it struck someone else's house we can open the criminal code and have them locked up forever 🤷 wonder if a prosecutor can be asked to launch a lawsuit.

They're desperate for recruits, they have been for years. Also, it seems pervasive in armed professions for people to not respect firearms for what they are because they're not interested in them in their personal lives. I've heard from a few different PAL instructors that people getting their license for a job often just don't give a shit in class.

A similar thing happened in Regina. Except the projectile didn't leave his domicile, he wasn't a law enforcement officer, and called the police on himself.
He was charged and his firearm seized.
