Buy recommendations Long range rifle

Hey all
Looking for a long range rifle and need help from people that know more than me about it. So I am thinking about 6.5 creedmoor or 338 lupa. I will probably not fire more than 2000 yards so think the 6.5 should be good any help would help. My budget is 8-15 for rile and scope feel free to send what you think you would buy

What's the purpose? Hunting or just target?

2000 yards is not an easy shot in any way. You'll need practice to get there and 338 will cost you a fortune for that.

Not to mention it's not going to be enjoyable to shoot a lot given its power.

If it's just target I don't see a point in going 338.

If it's hunting, that's incredibly unethical.

The fact you need to ask though and say you don't need much knowledge and seems you've skipped 500 yards and 1000 yards. I feel like this is just a flaunt of disposable income if you'd even be comparing these two given they are incredibly different price ranges

Purpose fun just target and I can learn to reload but the money is not that hard it not like I will pop off a 1000 rounds it is most likely I will put 100-200 rounds per year

Just target I don’t hunt my uncle took me out at 9 with a dear with a 3030 that I never shot

Ya shoot 300 with my 5.56 and it is ok and a few longer

Just looking for info for what to look at not people being upset that I don’t have any real expenses per month

Lol if you think you'll be even within 10m of a 1moa target at 1000 if you're only shooting 200 per year

I shoot probably about 40000-60000 rounds per year. How about you? My Ruger 22/45 I do 20-30 a year

Ok but is that at distance? Are you logging dope? Are you learning how to read wind?

I'm not trying to be rude but you're skipping a whole bunch of skill aspect. Did you watch a video from Sam and Mark AW, Texas plinking or impact shooting and think 'i want to do that' ?

I’m leaning and going to take a long rang shooting course by me here in BC I’m not going out and trying to shoot 2000 yards on day one but don’t want to buy the wrong gun and my over all goal to hit a target at that range.
