Say it ain’t so…

As far as I’m aware, North Sylva said their rifles have the mods and they can’t comment on other distributors. That’s what the rep said to me at TACCOM.

It’s more that they have a history of dishonest dealings.

Specially, the M10X debacle

Out of the loop, know where I can find a good full summary of that?

If you look up on CGN I’m sure there’s an old thread but I remember that M&M was going to go through I think it was wolverine to bring the NR version into Canada

Then, sometime before the initial import Wolverine was dropped because M+M signed onto an importation agreement with North Sylva and the marketing changed to be the M10X “DMR” with the importer, adding a bunch of buzz words to make it sound more like a precision rifle including a “match grade DMR safety.” And tacked on another 25% to the retail price.

Thank you brother for this information.

I believe as others have said such as [u/LumberjackCDN](u/LumberjackCDN), all rifles will have the upgraded QC so no more misaligned handguard/marring on barrel nut from cross threading.

To be clear both North Sylva AND Gravel will have the upgraded QC rifles. Only difference is gravel pre orders will have 12 inches of handguard. North Sylva have 15 inches.

Now the only question is how far behind will North Sylva be from Gravel in terms of delivery.

I am tempted to switch from uxbridge to a North Sylva dealer for the FDE and longer handguard.

My Gravel rep said brigade told them the NS guns are 150 days behind Gravel's. But who knows.

150 days behind Gravel? Like 5 MONTHS?

Just repeating what i was told.

Understood. Your insight is always appreciated.

I have to assume that a manufacturer and importer into Canada of semi-automatic center-fire rifles has to act quickly to get these rifles distributed before the ban-hammer falls, and they find themselves stuck with a bunch of prohibs either at the manufacturer's loading dock, the Canadian distributors' warehouses or retailers' back rooms.

They're doing it wrong if they have any intention of mitigating this risk. This "quiet period" before the SCoC makes up its mind is fast evaporating.

Are any of the gravel guns the 15” handguard or are they just the 12”?

All 12"

I rather get the rifle sooner than later. You can buy the handguard at later date

Yep. Carney may want a taste of gun banning. Seeing these nuGANGs pop up in Canada he may have to "take action".

Why did I absolutely, positively know getting these rifles here in a set time frame to everyone's satisfaction would be a cluster fuck? Christ, we're a bunch of masochists.

Brigade actually just replied to me today that all preorders will come with the 12” handguard sadly. Hopefully an option to buy the longer one at a later date.

I for one appreciate their boldness in giving every preorder a free handgun.

😂😂😂😂 genuinely caught me off guard when I read that

Yeah that kind of sucks, I feel like most people would prefer the longer handguard. Guess I’ll have to find out which I’ve got pre ordered.

It's kind of funny for Gravel to come out and try to put this whole "NS is being dishonest" thing out there. At least from what I saw, NS basically went "hey these are the new version, the handguard is longer and the QC issues are fixed". I feel like assuming the QC issues hadn't been fixed for the first batch with the 12" handguards was a safe assumption, given it's been 5 months since pre-orders started, QC concerns had been identified and even acknowledged by the manufacturer, and yet Gravel didn't come out and say they were being addressed? Idk man, feels sloppy all around.
