Misc Thoughts on the Makasi NSR?

Since they came out with a new version today I assume everyone is going to switch, wonder who's still gonna pick up the original. Anyone think otherwise? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Just talked to my Gravel rep, no different between theirs and the ns version other than the length of the hand guard. Also Makasi told Gravel the North Sylva stuff is 150 days behind theres. So we will see

Does this mean that the Gravel version will have the upgrades of the North Sylva versions or does this mean that there are no upgrades from the original imports of gravel.

Everyone is getting the same gun. Only difference is the handguard length and colour. Its why the initial Gravel order was delayed.

Okay one thing I want to clarify. Everyone initially ordered a 12 inch handguard Makasi back in April, including me. Then the shipment was delayed. Now everyone is switching over to the 15 inch handguard version. Will switching over now cause a further delay in my order or would I theoretically still get mine with the first shipment of Makasis entering Canada? If I switch over basically does that put me at the back of the queue or do I still get the same priority I had when I placed the April order? Just wondering how something like that gets handled.

Yes the 15 inch is coming from north sylva, brigade told gravel this morning that north sylva will be getting theirs after gravel gets theirs.

Wait wtf hang on I just switched my order with Bullseye North over the phone this morning from the 12 inch to the 15 inch and the person told me that I can expect it around mid October. Is Gravel not importing any 15 inch ones in this first batch? Tf is going on man

U/lumberjackCDN please correct me if I am wrong but I believe gravel is getting a shipment of 12 inch handguards whereas north sylva is getting the 15 inch. I don’t believe the first batch of gravel Makasis will have the 15 inch but they will have all of the better QC north sylva ones supposedly have.

Exactly this. Theyre same gun just smaller hand guard.

So what’s to stop Brigade from switching handguards on a bunch of 12 inch ones and ship them off? Maybe that’s how NS plans to meet their October-November deadline. So what is this, a pissing match between distributors?

Yes, according to my rep though, brigade told them the NS guns were 150 days behind their order. Who knows who is true. But Gravel is still setting the MAP for them (and also were the distributor who did all the work to get the sku into Canada) so id be inclined to believe them

Yeah my gravel rep wasnt too pleased with all the stuff north sylva was saying when i was on the phone with him today
