Thoughts on the Makasi NSR?

Since they came out with a new version today I assume everyone is going to switch, wonder who's still gonna pick up the original. Anyone think otherwise? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Isn't the NSR just the name for the new replacement with a 15" handguard? I think most pre-orders are the Makasi NSR.

Probably gonna wait this one out and wait for more reviews. It's easy to say we replaced a few parts and everything is working now.

No, I believe most (if not all) of the original preorders are the 12" version

In my case, it said so in my original preorder

I hear they fixed some issues though but I'm not sure if that's just marketing or what. IIRC not just the handguard?

That NS description sucks lol. All of the issues is a bold claim

So I spoke to Hical. They've received communication this morning. They are being told 20% of their order will be arriving within about a month, with the balance by end of November. FDE will be about 1 week behind the black version.

According to their correspondence, all shipments will be the upgraded version. North Sylva has taken over the Gravel order and demanded the upgrades prior to shipment.

This is based on a conversation with an employee, take with as much salt as you feel is necessary

Just switched my pre order with rdsc for the 15 handguard. Told mid October to end of November.

I'm kind of miffed that late august ended up being a lie ngl. I guess we'll see if they hit that new target.

Welcome to pre-ordering a firearm in canada lol. Whatever the original date is, hopefully its within 6 months of that!

They claimed to fix all reported issues but I could see the new 15” handguard is misaligned in some pictures from Taccom

But obviously, 15” handguard version is better than original.

I know some vendors in the West would be stuck with 12” version

Preordered a Carmel, I would wait until final products come to gun owners’ hands.

At least the carmel is not made by some dudes with CNC machines in a garage

The display firearms at a lot of TACCOM booths were all finger tight, accessories too. The Makasi and the Carmel both had screws I could turn with my finger tip.

I would personally square any misalignment you saw with that.

Just talked to my Gravel rep, no different between theirs and the ns version other than the length of the hand guard. Also Makasi told Gravel the North Sylva stuff is 150 days behind theres. So we will see
