Misc CATF Subscription

Does anyone have a subscription and tell me what the difference between envelope and no envelope is?

Is no envelope just a plastic sleeve? I can’t imagine a paper this large surviving lettermail being sent loose without something to secure it. Is the envelope for privacy?

A lot of newsletters/magazines like this get sent through without an envelope. It's not really an issue.
