Buy recommendations Need chassis ideas for Tikka T3X CTR .223

Post image

Looking for a pistol‑grip chassis for my T3x CTR .223. I shoot only from a bench at max 600m and want to keep using CTR mags. Also any other accessory recommendations?

Mine

MDT premier gen2. Only downside is that it uses AICS mags

AICS is not a downside when CTR mags cost $200+ a pop, IMO.

I went AICS and use MDT mags which are like $89 regular and go on sale every Black Friday, not to mention they're much easier to find in stock. Never had any issues with them.

It is since OP wants to continue to use CTR mags.

Nice that looks really good! If i end up deciding to go to AICS mags then id definitely consider this model!

What don't you like about the factory stock?

I have big hands and pistol grip is a lot more comfortable for me

Their strike nuke is very good and pretty cheap, I have on my my Cadex R7 sheepdog factory rifle and like it a lot

I’m not aware of any non factory chassis that still use CTR mags. You could probably find a used chassis from a Tac A1 or Ace.

Having said that, I would recommend switching to AICS mags they work great and are half the price

If you wait a bit, don't MDT have a big Black friday sale every year??? That  would be my best bet

late to party; Not sure you want to keep using the CTR mags, but KRG has options for Tikka inlets to accept CTR mags.

Yeah i think im going to go that route, thanks!

I prefer the X-ray over the Bravo personally. Buttstock is way more adjustable out of the gate and i prefer the narrower cheek piece on it.

I have my CTR in a MDT LSS Gen 3 and I love it but I had to switch to AICS mags. The metal ones have a similar feel to the orignal CTR mags if that's what you are looking for.

The lss gen 3 tactical looks sick, main reason to sticking with ctr mags is that i already have 3 of them and have been reliable for me

The krg bravo is definitely on the list! Im also thinking of saving and just bite the bullet on the whiskey 3

Why not an MDT chassis? Support Canadian.

Yeah honestly the oryx chassis really seems like the best bang for your buck, but i really do prefer the aesthetics of the krg chassis, hard decision lol 😂

I’ve been wanting an oryx chassis for my savage but it’s worth more than the gun 😂 even used all your saving is the tax. Gonna have to wait for a Black Friday sale lol

I just got a KRG Bravo 10/22 chassis, I know it’s not the same as the center fire version but it feels cheaply built for the price - KRG is overpriced in Canada. I would go with MDT or something else.
