Gun and gear reviews How is the Adler ad500a

I have been wanting a cheap semi automatic to make it look like a m4/scar this is my first semi automatic center fire and want to know how it is is it ammo picky etc

Get the Alcor instead. 5.56 is way cheaper than .308, it has better stock and forend options, and its probably the least shit-on Turkish semi.

Edit* Didnt realize the "a" came chambered in .223

Most people are saying due to Turkish regulations guns for 55.6 count as military weapons while 223 Remington is civilian so most Turkish 223 rem guns also work with 556

No you're right, I just didn't realize the AD500 came in .223 when I originally made my comment. It used to only be available in .308

That being said, the Alcor is still a better choice.

There’s a .308 Alcor coming to market soon too. Kodiak defense had one at their Taccom booth.

ad500a broke after 20rd. Firing pin snapped.

Many bad comments and reviews popping up despite only being on the market a month or two. My handguard also was coming loose after 20rd, and the machining holes lined up poorly so impossible to properly tighten. Bareel also coming loose, along with just about everyone else having these issues.

I think the warranty center is swamped because I haven't heard back in a week since the initial contact. They will be VERY busy fixing AD500s for a while, so even if an issue arises, expect very long turn around.

Skip it, as fun as 223 semis are.

My Crusader Backland Comp is honestly a much better rifle despite it having its little quirks and proprietary mags, it at least runs and nothing has broken yet with about 500rd through it, and fairly accurate 

Or just hold out a bit longer as the Carmels and Mk15s are due to come in any day. Literally anything but the AD500A, despite the 308 models having alright reviews, the 223 models are made to a much lower standard it seems. It literally tells you in the manual you have to retighten the barrel every 250rd, but it seems like that number is actually more like 25rd, almost every guy who has bought one has had issues with the barrel coming loose, and if you loctite it, you'll have to deal with loctite everytime you want to clean it. Bad design.

The mk15 is very expensive for what it is and the iwi ones I don’t get due to boycotting that brand for personal reasons but would you say the crusader is worth it even if it’s not standard lar15 mags

Mine has been at the warranty center for a month now , no updates yet. I want to ask them if I can swap it for Two RF224 lol
