Buy recommendations Budget Bolt Action Rifle with Underbarrel Picatinny Rail?

Rifle neophyte here. More of a shotgun man myself. Wanting to diversify my collection.

Looking for a medium to long range bolt action rifle with an underbarrel picatinny rail. Budget is around $1,000.00. Give or take.

Favoring anything as powerful, or more powerful, than .308 Win. Any rifle suggestions welcome.

Curious. Why under-barrel? You mean like on the forend?

If so, lots of rifles these days come with either a chassis (might be above your price point) or a stock that allows for pic rail sections to be mounted in front. The rifles that don't have this would usually have a front sling stud, which also allows you to mount a sling stud to pic rail adaptor.

If you just want to mount a bipod, you can simply get a sling stud bipod.

Underbarrel shotgun to attach to a forend with a picatinny rail. I know, it's a meme, but, it's what I want do, haha.

Oh then you'd most likely need a rifle with a chassis that comed with a metal handguard lol

Any suggestions? Any chassis that I could replace onto a rifle?

Sort of fits

7.62 x39. CZ 600 trail.

The bad? Not more powerful than a 308 obviously. Also is right on the 1k price point.

The good though?  Had the underbarrel pic rail and mlock for more rail. Do you want the pic rail for a bipod, or are you thinking of mounting a undervalued shotgun to it??

Either way, the Trail is super compact and easy to bring around. I laugh at the thought of one with a under barrel shotgun on it too.

What's your use case? Ie bench? Hunting? Etc

What kind of distance are you looking for?

Does the 1k include an optic and a mounting solution?

Le bench. Prep. Underbarrel 12 gauge meme. Nothing serious.

I have a Mossberg MVP Patrol but its in 308. I thonk they might do 7.62 x 39 but I'm not sure.

Great rifle, and small!

The Ruger American Gen II 6.5 Creedmoor can be found for as cheap as $795 leaving you $200 for a swivel stud adapter, scope rings, a sling, or whatever else. I think 6.5cm is better than 308 if you're interested in longer ranges.
