Saw this at Taccom earlier today. This model by Canuck basically fixes two major issues I had with the TM22.....the charging handle is ambidextrous and it's got a bolt hold open. The bolt hold open is on the third photo. It also takes 10/22 mags but Canuck will be coming out with proprietary 5, 10, 15 and 25 round mags. From what I've seen the 15 and 25 round mags will look similar to the Butler Creek banana style mags. Mil-spec buffer tube. The handguard is all aluminum and has MLOK slots on the bottom as well. Full length aluminum picatinny rail. It will also come with the MBUS style sights. The only thing this doesn't come with is the scope and the tripod obviously.
The Canuck rep told me that they'll be on shelves in December but they will probably be out earlier in November so all the Canadian gun tubers can review them. Obviously the big concern is how reliable they will be but I've been pretty happy with Canuck and O'Dell Engineering's products so far so I have a feeling that this will be a TM22 killer.
EDIT: I forgot....these will come in a 12 inch, 16 inch and an 18 inch barrel version. The muzzle is also threaded. Also, they will come in OD green and I believe FDE. All models will be non-restricted. Price point will also be around $600 CAD. Same as most TM22s.
They said they’re going to release them in 12” and 16” to start then come with I think a 20” later on, all different colour ways too.. basics at first, black, fde, od, and grey, then do limited release colour ways in the future
The only thing that I don’t like is where the “C-22” is in the hand guard, its right where I would put some rail panels for grip. But I agree that is looking good overall.
I see what u mean......minor issues in the grand scheme of things tbh. I was actually thinking about getting a TM22.....however, I'm just gonna wait for this to come out now.
I don’t think I’ll pick one up right away for 2 reasons. Make sure they are decent overall. And I really want that psr-9 so that will take priority I do t have a 9mm in my armoury yet and it’s pretty cool looking rifle! Excited to see overall how guys like this it should be good!
I just left my Homesteader factory stock except for changing it out to the Glock magwell and putting a pic rail and a cheapo red dot it on it. Literally have never had any issues with it. Range Arts was also showcasing a new tactical aluminum handguard and rear stock for the Homesteader which looks promising but is still in the works. Besides that one there's the Midwest Industries stock/handguard that looks decent.
I don't really see the need to ever get a pump-action 9mm especially with the Homesteader being available besides just wanting another range toy/meme gun.
Each to their own I guess I prefer to drive manual too. Don’t get me wrong I love a good mag dump but running stuff by hand and getting proficient at its way more satisfying to me.
I like it. Was thinking about grabbing a TM22 with 12" barrel but think I might wait and grab a 12 of this one just to have something different and looks really nice imo
This looks decent. That safety looks ass backwards from standard AR configuration though and could likely be easily flipped off inadvertently while carrying in the bush. Other than that, it looks like a good deal for the price.
Tbh that doesn't make a lot on sense. Logic would dictate that they'd be mirrored on both sides. If it's backwards on one side then it'll be backwards on the other. I own guns that are ambi and the safety is the same on both sides. This one might just be ass backwards from the factory like a lot of the early TM-22 designs had for their safety. Not the end of the world. Just worth pointing out and wishing that their production guns are more standard/westernized when it comes to that.

If Canuck releases backwards compatible mags for the 10/22 that exceed 10 rounds without being pinned then they will instantly be classified as prohibited devices by the RCMP.
I understand that, but i also wonder if that's because of the bolt holt open built into the mag that stops it from working in the 10/22. Which ultimately means if you remove that feature it may work.
Again we won't know until we get one in hand, but supposedly the C22 accepts 10/22 mags so i imagine its a small geometry difference somewhere and my money is on that bolt hold open feature.
Nothing else is getting banned until after the Supreme Court decision which won't be until next year anyways. No sense in worrying about what the government is going to ban next. If they really wanted to they could just ban all civilian gun ownership at the stroke of a pen but the will to do this is not there at the moment.

Biggest feature for me is simple tool-less take-down. Every other .22 semi on the market is a PITA.
