The feminist complaint that "men think it's all about them" is, humorously, correct in this case: gun control is old woman vs. young woman far more than it ever was man vs. woman. (This is true for most policies old women prefer, in fact; the average anti-sufferagette was an old woman who could reliably lean on her husband to vote her way, and young women gaining the vote would dilute her power.)
