Shooting Any drop in outdoor ranges near the GTA?
I go to target sports, but the range is only 25yards. I want something much longer. Any recommendations?

There are no outdoor public ranges in the GTA, the available ones are private. Silverdale is the closest.

How do you get into those?

Find contact info for a club you're interested in and ask on how to become a member. From what folks on the sub say lots of waitlists and/or limited range options and high prices, but it is what it is to not have to drive hours to shoot.

Sharon GC which is 15 minutes north of Target Sports has plenty of outdoor facilities.
For a rental share, it's about $700 to rent + $700 annual dues. Renewals are each July, there maybe some rental shares still available, call the club secretary to see. You can also purchase a share, but see GIF above.

The only one close to the GTA would be Silverdale. You can drop in almost any day until Dec. 31st and shoot on their 50 yard range. You will need to show proof of a hunting license like an outdoors card.

You do not need a hunting license. Just your PAL

I see. On their site it says you need to show proof of an outdoors card now. A few years ago this wasn't the case.

I’ve never noticed that on their site. We’ve been there 3 times total. First time didn’t even have a PAL, because you can book packages where you use their guns.

The way they did it a couple years ago before I became a member was that anyone with a PAL could drop in to the 50yd on I think Wednesdays and then in the fall there was “hunter sight-in” any day but you had to show your outdoors card.

They half enforce all their rules and make up random ones depending on RSO so not surprising.

Silverdale is only one but that's only 50 yards.
The 100 yard is members only I believe. Place is a dump anyways.
