Shooting "30-hate"

I like 30.cal rifles..but my shoulder doesn't lol

•Italian M1

•Ruger Gunsite

•Henry 30-30

Scout rifle is the worst offender lol..the 30-30 is a close second.

Maybe im just getting old..

If even 30-30 is giving you a hard time, you need to look into your form.

30-06 from a semi-auto isn't a big deal either. You're not shouldering the rifle correctly. Or maybe only shooting prone?

I think im getting more recoil sensitive in my 40's lol.. That 30-30 isnt so bad but it has a kick..shot 20 of 150gr M1 is in 7.62x51 its really smooth, heavy as fuck lol so the recoil isnt bad. Shot 90% from the table, put 100 rounds down range..after 50 it starts to tickle a bit. Id say a solid 60 were through the scout rifle and that thing is one of the hardest hitting guns i own. Twice that of my 3006 savage running 168gr's

Not that it can't get you.

My dad has a 336 with an 18", and even in 30-30 that was miserable. I'd shout my 45-70 all day over that if given the choice.

And haven't shot a scout, but have read they aren't much fun.

I will say that in general American stock design sucks. Shooting a Remington or Savage 3006 compared to a CG or Husqvarna is night and day difference. The stock transfers it all to you eat more directly without any drop.
