Misc Gunsmith recommendations in SW Ontario

Looking for recommendations for a gunsmith familiar with working on Winchester model 12s in Southern Ontario. Preferably around the KW area.

Looking to have a new barrel cut down and fitted.

Tbh, a lot of the gunsmiths in SW Ontario are total fudds. It's an industry comprised of a lot of boomers who'd rather give you their opinions rather than do the job you're trying to hire them for. Not to mention, they work super slowly and will have backlogs of 3+ months out-of-season.

After a lot of digging, I've found that the gunsmith crew at General Gun & Supply are the best option. Depending on where you are, it may be a bit of a drive, but they're knowledgeable and do great work.

Fudds being fudds. Boomers cannot just keep their opinions to themselves.

I used to work with Ken at Bullseye back when they were on the corner or Wharncliffe & Southdale. Solid guy, I’d trust him do a fine job.

I think the guys name is mark? Talked to him about drilling and tapping a receiver on an old rifle

Had him chamber my new barrel, phenomenal job!

Tagging onto this, I have an SKS that need a gunsmith to look at it. Pretty sure the chamber is FUBAR, but need someone to look at it and see if it’s fixable or if I should strip it for parts and buy a new one.

Call shooters choice in Waterloo and select the extension for their gun smithing guy, he’s great

If you call Shooter's Choice, their automated system has an option to get to their smith. He's one building over from them. Personally, I'd pass though. I took a pistol to him and it took about a year to get it back. He did fix my problem, but he's incredibly backlogged.

I’m not sure why it took so long in my case. He had so many rifles so that’s definitely his focus but my only complaint was how long it took. He did resolve my problem and only charged me about $100

No idea about 12s in particular, but Tillsonburg gun shop may be able to help.
