The Trail is pretty fun for a compact bolt action. Carrying it put in the wild folded up is wild, like it's so tiny!  Might have to take mine deer hunting (7.62 x39 version), it will be a big change from  the heavy  old 308

I was super on the fence about the 7.62 version myself, but unfortunately the mags aren’t as easy to find and I’ve already got all my kit and a bunch of pmags set up for 5.56.

Maybe I’ll get a 7.62 version down the line if I ever want to burn a thousand bucks. 😂

I'm waiting for one of the redditors here to get the green light to sell a proprietary mag that will fit the Trail but not  the Bren 2. It's been a long wait though sadly.

The other option is finding  a magwell  adaptor and using 7.62 x39 LAR mags. The adaptor seems a bit hard to find though, but it does exist and is a legit CZ part. Or they have aftermarket  Bren mag adaptors that might be a bit bulkier

That redditor, checking in-

Bureaucratic, Sisyphean hell for mags exists, and I have seen it. It may actually be easier for me to develop and sell a magwell adapter for LAR/STANAG mags myself than to actually bring magazines to market due to the conflicting answers I've gotten and grey areas in our current legislation, and that's before getting into PAL validation for every transaction (as magazines are now controlled items that require a PAL) as a little guy in the post-C21 world. It's something I've been thinking on for a while. My thinking is I could make one that would also work with MRX Bison mags for .223/300BO guys but work fine with LARs for 7.62. I'm keeping an eye out for sales on a .223/5.56 this fall.

Three birds, one stone, etc.

I can't make any promises, tough, because I already made that mistake once, bit off more than I could chew, and let you dudes down for the time being. Demoralizing doesn't quite sum it up. I still hope to bring the mags to market one day, but I'm not sure when or if I'll be able to.

Would the bren 2 to AR style magwell adapter that RDSC sells work? No idea how magwell adapters work but seen they had those available

It should work, I believe it just will stick put a little. The actual  CZ part is what they use in the 223 Trail, so it fits in sleek and professionally. That's how they do the trail with both Bren mags for the 7.62 and AR mags for the 223/300bo

I went with the plus in 300 blackout and am very impressed with accuracy
