Best Lever .22?

Looking to one day add a lever .22 to the collection.
In your thoughts and experiences, which is the best lever .22? Which is the nicest to shoot/your favourite? Any known issues with any of these? I’d like something that will hopefully last a long time as a plinker and target shooter, and accurate enough to be fun.

Browning lr-22 I’ve owned a Henry and it was nowhere near as nice

The Browning lr-22 is by far the nicest lever .22

I have one and it was the first gun I purchased. My dad had a rossi pump gallery 22 I used to love shooting and the with the short throw the browning lever has a similar fun, light, fast-handling feel. That's a great innovation that takes advantage of the small cartridge. I love how it just takes a flick. The entire trigger+guard is part of the lever! Pretty accurate too I've head shot grouse with this thing using the stock sights!

Don’t mind? It’s a pretty huge advantage since you can cycle it without having your hand even leave the gun I think it’s at like 30 degrees compared to like double that in a Henry

I’ve run every kind of .22 and I’ve never had a single problem. The Henry .22 is a nice rifle don’t get me wrong but it’s like comparing good margarin to butter lol

I can't speak to these, but I was given a Browning BL-22 Grade II to sell when the original owner had to leave the country for work.

Beautiful wood, fit and finish was great and action was very smooth,

Do you have trouble with the iron sight's height? I took the wedge completely off and it was still shooting high. My only other complaint is the slippery butt, which I fixed with some double sided tape and racket grip.

I can second the Browning BL-22 Grade II.

Beautiful wood, fit and finish was fantastic.

The action was incredibly smooth. I haven't shot the others, but played with them in the store, did not feel as slick.

I really like the henery H001-22. You can legit shoot it for years without cleaning(not recommending it but you can) its a perfect rifle for plinking and with a scope on it its as accurate as 22 gets.

I would say thus far my favourite has been the Henry H001, but I haven't been able to try the Revel or Ranger yet. I prefer the full lever throw for feel, and really like their basic, non buckhorn sights.

I also find the balance, accuracy and overall build fit me nicely, it doesn't feel undersized like some .22's do for me. I'm also a fan of the half cock safety, very simple, no frills. There are parts of it that feel kind of cheap, but mine have worked for years and shot well for what they are. I'd still recommend them though, they definitely have more competition now.

By far the best I’ve used is the Browning BL-22, its quality is excellent and the action is very smooth, nothing else really comes close

The browning is of course, the best. If you don’t want to spend that kind of money, the Henry 001 is a great little .22. Far better than the Rossi

I have a Henry youth. I picked it up new for 400. Can’t beat that. If you e got the cash, Browning. Though, personally, I’d get the Henry lever AND a Browning pump.

I just bought the Winchester, only about 300 rounds through it. The stock has a slight wobble and there aren’t any aftermarket parts for it. But it shoots. And it’s cheap.

I have to also agree with the other comments on the Browning BL-22. My grandfather used one as his small game rifle for years before giving it to me and both my father and I have used it for over a decade for hunting. Its been incredibly accurate and reliable

I have a Grade 2 Browning BL-22
It’s the nicest rifle I have. Beautiful and very accurate. I take it hunting for small game and I use only the iron sights, never missed a shot.

Marlin 39, world’s longest production running shouldered firearm. I have one in the 39A and another in 39A Golden. It also came in the 39A Mountie variant. Superb accuracy. This is the rifle Annie Oakley used to shoot 25 rounds in 27 seconds through a playing card. You will never find a better .22LR lever action!!!
