Got some left over 451 barrel blank, shotgun adapter it is, super easy lathe project that only takes couple hours. Grouping is surprisingly decent for its 1inch of rifling lol.

Yes its just a lot more expensive making it niche and not seen as much, most people would just get another gun instead of a 300$ 18” barrel adapter

The bullet clears the muzzle in less than 3 milliseconds. In that short time, I have doubts the muzzle would had jumped up more than a millimetre, especially when we're talking about a 9mm in a relatively heavy shotgun.

If I understand correctly, most rifles the bullet makes contact with the barrel while it travels down, so if you make it with the correct material it shouldn’t be an issue…

It would for accuracy. And most barrels aren't hit with impacts from rifle rounds, they moreso guide the round while squeezing it tight, or in the case of a shotgun the impact is much softer/lighter.

My understanding is that the bullet is making contact with the barrel to start, not suddenly impacting it along the length.

Unless you're talking about shot, which does bounce around the barrel but I think each bead had less energy and mass than a bullet

45 auto is a lot smaller than a 12ga barrel, and the 45's "barrel" in this instance is only one inch into the 12ga barrel.

It sounds like you're arguing about the likelihood of it happening rather than the likelihood of damage, to which I agree and think that the barrel is unlikely to move significantly in the time the bullet travels it's length. I still wouldn't trust a barrel to happily ricochet a bullet at point blank range without taking damage

This is what I think when I see  9mm barrel blanks for sale.....  I think there is a 16 inch one somewhere, you could cut it to make 2 inserted,  both  like with 7 inches or more of rifling.  9mm double barrel for the fun!

Any chance you’re producing these? I’ve always thought they were cool and they never seem to stick around when they come in stock. I did manage to find a 12ga > 20ga once upon a time and used it to let the kids shoot clays without the recoil of a 12.
