Buy recommendations Any good optic recommendations for Ruger American Ranch?

I’ve had my ruger for a while but I’m a little disappointed with the current scope on it. I’m looking for recommendations for a replacement, I’m leaning more towards an lpvo, specifically the vortex venom 1-6x24. What other recommendations do you all have? My budget is around $600, I could probably go a bit more if there’s something good.

Burris RT6 has treated me very well for over 3 years so far. Very clear, zero has never wandered, very bright illumination if needed.

Its got my vote.

I posted a review of the Venom a couple years ago, it’s on my account somewhere. Great optic, all things considered.

That being said, the more I’ve played with the RT6, the more I like it. The glass is really good to my eyes.

If you can, I’d really take a look through a few before deciding. In that price range, the Venom, RT6, gen IV Nova, maybe the EP8… at that price range, I find glass is more subjective.

Im looking at getting a new one as well, thinking of moving the RT6 from my Renegade onto the Homesteader, and maybe grab a 1 - 8 for the Renegade.

Just not too sure what to go with. RDS on the Homesteader is fun, but the extra bit of zoom would be nice too.

with a budget of $600, the Venom 1-6 is probably going to be your best bet. I believe there a few combo mount options on the market as well that come with the mount and even a RDS.

Personally, i'd stretch my budget a bit and opt for the Strike Eagle 1-10 they released recently. Would fit that rifle setup perfectly IMO.

Venom 1-6 with the mount combo is the move. It should be on sale right now too as bass pro is bullying vortex canada at the moment.

The RT6 from burris is a good choice, but only vortex warranties the electronics forever (burris's forever warranty does not seem to include canada when you read their exclusions on their website)

What's happening now?

Just putting their stuff on discount when Vortex doesnt like that. But their accounts big enough that they kinda get to do what they want. Vortex is finally letting us other dealers do the same but we're like a month behind bass pro

Oh you mean like the MAP stuff? Honestly it's about time; almost everytime we see a sale at firearms stores Vortex is one of the names that's always excluded.

I love there stuff, but their pricing disparity is wild vs people on the US side. Ours are way overpriced here even after you factor conversion rates.

Eh i find vortex is pretty comparable (sales aside) but the thing that hurts is being held to a seperate standard than the big box store.

Edit: an example: midway usa viper hd 5-25 is 999 usd which is 1381 cad in a straight exchange. Cad is 1499. So yes more but not terrible when things like currency exchange fees, import brokerage fees and shipping are accounted for. Not like leupold or some other brands are anyhow

At that price point the Venom is quite good, but also consider the Arken EP8, here is a good review by someone very qualified on the topic

I'm a big fan of the Primary Arms 1-6 gen4 "Nova".
