Feets / Collection / My build Presenting the “It’s 5 Rounds Bro”, an SKS Tapco mag speedloader

Made out of squirted PLA Plus, this is my V1 speedloader for Tapco SKS mags. Basically a stripper clip adaptor.
This was born out of me only having bulk rounds on stripper clips, and no way to load them into my mags other that laboriously removing them and hand- feeding them into mags. Oh the pain.
That, and spite. Thanks to u/Ok-Raise-5115 for naming my creation.

You can also cut the stripper clips between the 5th and 6th round then crimp off the cut end.

Makes them far more usable with our laws.

That's what I do.  Should color one end to shoe which way it goes on. I put  ductape on it to make a little tab but thar peels off too quickly.

Ao my thoughts are either just color one end, or use super glue to attach a tab (which admittedly does make it much easier to pull out after loading

I did the same but used red nail polish to mark the crimped end.

Time to steal my wife's nail polish again....

From  Etching metal projects, to marking stripper clips, it's amazing how useful nailpolish can be

Looks nice on my toes too.

I won’t tell yours if you don’t tell mine.

With the 10 round clips I can load two mags one after the other by just leaving the clip in the adapter.

That works fine and dandy at a bench but on the move you’ll risk losing rounds to wherever you put the clip while you fire off the first half.

I have more than one mag. In fact I have six.

Are stripper clips included in the 5 round limit?

Wouldn't it be easier just to put the stripper clip in the sks ?

Certainly, if I didn’t have a rail blocking the top access.

Ahhh I was multitasking while looking at your post and didnt notice the rail and scope now I see why you use mags and speedloaders.

That’s dope, would this work with other mags or would it have to be tweaked for every different magazine design?

I doubt it would just work with other mags unfortunately, the part that hugs the mag is fitted and would have to be adjusted in CAD. I'm willing to do the work if people are interested, but I don't have other mags and would have to be given measurements or pick some useless- to - me ones up.

Forgive my stupidity, are you loading the stripper clip into the mag? I’ve been looking for ways to load 10 round mags but I have an sks-d so getting an adapter and using lar pistol mags isn’t available. I need an explanation for this as I might try and do this myself lol

Yes, stripper clip right into the mag. If you’re using AK mags for your SKS you can probably find this kind of thing already made for you. If you can’t and want to make your own it’s not too hard.

Forgive me for being that guy, but is this horse cop approved?

Is it because stripper clips aren't technically "magazines", or because 7.62x39 pistols exist?
