Application / Regulation advice Do any one have any experience Getting gun accessories ( for example - fake suppressor ) by road from US to Canada
Is it legal to buy gun parts like Faux suppressor ( for 22lr) in US and get it to Canada by road? I'm going to declare at the boarder of course. Do anyone have any experience getting parts ?
If its a hassle at the border , I can buy it here . But those are wayy cheaper there

Not worth it. Leave it to Irunguns or one of the other importers to get you what you want.
You are relying on border guards to know the rules and even if you are correct and what you have is not ITAR restricted, that doesn’t mean you won’t get stopped, lose a day, potentially detained and potentially charged.
And even if you are right, it may go on your record and you will face challenges in the future at the border.

Just buy one from tna it’s under 100$ or 3d print one if you wanna be really cheap

I have experience in this...
Know which border you are crossing first. Call on Canadian side. Tell them your plan. You'll get the green light. Stop it on the way down yo USA. Tell them plan again. Get a badge # from the officer who says it's okay. Maybe ask to see a supervisor to confirm. Return through that same port same day. Tell the officer you stopped on the way down and badge # XXX confirmed it was okay to bring back a faux suppressor that is sitting on the back seat cushion. You'll get referred. They will examine it. 99% chance youll be fine. You can appeal seizures. You'd win.

Check to see if it is ITAR controlled. The americans, not the canadians, are the ones who will have their panties in a bunch over it if you cross the border with anything ITAR controlled. You may have new duties as of this week since carnie the carny and donnie the trumpet can't get along

No, theyre an itar regulated item and subject to export controls by the usa. Cbp often conducts export inspections and if youre caught trying to export an itar item, you can be charged and have your vehicle siezed.
Basicslly everything that attaches to, or can be inserted into a firearm is an itar controlled item.

IIRC not always, many are EAR. Also CBP cares but CBSA doesn't, if its otherwise legal IIRC, cuz ITAR is not a Canadian law.

Funny how the tables turn, I remember when I first joined /r/canadaguns everyone was like "yeah totally just run it over the border, what's ITAR?" Now everyone knows about ITAR and cautions about those rules, it had changed to most firearm things being under EAR. 😆
Still end of the day it's a controlled item and penalties would still be no joke for illegally exporting. There is a reason why companies like irunguns make bank because they do all the export import paperwork for you.

Muzzle devices are generally EAR99 not ITAR now. Still not worth trying to export/import without fully understanding the legislation though.

This is a completely false comment. Most non military part were removed from ITAR and are now controlled by BIS.
