Misc Gas rod

Hi All, Let me know if this is right or wrong place to post/ask this...

I found a flat spot on my SKS gas rod, while cleaning, and it is still blued. I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this, and is it normal? The rifle fires just fine.

Very common on the SKS for machining mistakes and small blemishes to be found on parts and blued over, in particular if the rifle has been factory refurbished. Should not effect function at all.
