Ok two things here;

First since I own an ar-18 I would love to get one of those receivers if you follow through with this project.

Second I can think of two machine shops in saskatchewan that would do this work for you. Sask gunwerkz or chip 9 machining. Both already do custom work on ar-15 and iirc gunwerkz has a 3d printer already for fine tuning c&c models before they make them.

I'm from Saskatchewan. I've never heard of, and can't find any mention of a Sask Gunwerkz. There IS a Saskatoon Gunworks but trust me, you don't wanna go there unless you absolutely have to...

Never heard anything bad about Saskatoon gun works before, care to elaborate?

Gunwerkz is a private company, an offshoot of a guys larger precision machining shop in Regina. Since they don't retail or do gunsmithing I am not surprised you haven't heard of them. My understanding is he has licensing from the CFO to manufacture so he keeps a low profile to avoid publicity and possible break ins. His brother had a gunsmithing company making custom long range rifles on 3rd street in weyburn but his web page seems to be gone so he may have gone out of business now.

First of all, thank you for the information!

The fella who runs Saskatoon Gunworks is apparently a fine gunsmith, but he is ALWAYS right about EVERYTHING. If you disagree with him, you're a fucking idiot and he will tell you that to your face. If he is sponsored by a company, they are perfect, descended from the heavens. If you don't like their product, you're a fucking idiot. If he isn't sponsored by a company, their products are completely worthless. If you disagree... you get the picture.

He is better than you, remember that.

I don't shop there unless I can't shop ANYWHERE else...

Lol he sounds like allot of gun shop owners then. ...

Skgwz was an accidental find for me, I bought an ar 180b off wolverine and thanks to how wonderfully affordable norinco .223 was between target shooting and gopher 'yote hunts I had over 40,000 rounds through it over 6 years. It was basically a smoothbore.

Since the 180b is not a screw in barrel replacing the 1/9 with a chrome lined 1/7 was not something anyone wanted to do. The shop in weyburn sent it to his brother and it was done, under budget in 4 days. I know his main shop is still in Regina so I assume skgwz is too, if he wants the name and number I can fwd it too him.
