Buy recommendations Rifle tripod recommendations
Looking to get into PRS and trying to figure out what tripod to go with. I’m seeing options from Leofoto, RRS, FatBoy and Vortex.
What are you guys running/recommending, and where are you buying them in Canada?
I’ll mainly be using ARCA, but it would be nice to have the option to use rifles without an ARCA rail as well.
Not looking to cheap out, but also don’t want to spend RRS money if something else gets me most of the way there. What would you go with?

I run an Innorel NT404C (40mm) with an Innorel Arca ball head. I have a cheese plate on it for my binos, lrf and phone mount. The cheese plate is mounted via an arca rail so you can remove it quickly and use the tripod as a rear support.
But, you won’t really need one to start, you can spot on squad members gear and usually there’s a bipod being handed between squad for a stage that requires one.
Honestly I’m not even confortable using one yet, I’ve been eyeing an arca flat bag to use in conjunction with and still didn’t buy it.

Honestly if your just getting into prs why do you want a bipod rn? I just shot my first season, 15 matches and never truly needed one. Sure some stages woulda went better with one but it didnt make or break a stage. Anytime it was required to use one on the stage more then 1 person were willing to lend theirs. Spend your money else where for now

RRS is the top tier, no question. I’ve been using a TFCT-34 for 6 or 7 years now. For my uses (mostly field match use and hinting these days but also spotting at PRS matches), it’s the perfect compromise between weight, stability and length for packing. The Anvil-30 is the undisputed champ for ball heads for shooting clipped-in. They are really expensive though and honestly not really necessary for actual PRS (where most of your use will be spotting or rear support). All of the other shooting specific tripods are made in China and many are OEMd by Leofoto which is a greasy, IP stealing chicom corporation. The ones sold by North American brands (Two Vets, Fat Boy) are imo a much better option than directly supporting Leofoto 🤮

A lot of the people I've shot with stand by FatBoy tripods, I've borrowed some too and they're really nice.
I think it depends on what your budget is honestly, but I'm a big fan of my Vortex tripod.

Avoid BOG, they're junk. Vortex are overpriced. Innorel makes great tripods, but for PRS you want something that's quickly deployable. Best option is the Fatboy inverse tripod. Cadex also makes a solid tripod too.

Bro it's a bipod, not a nuclear reactor computer. Buy one on Amazon and see how it works. More money does not necessarily mean that much better. Prs is especially guilty of jacking prices up on stuff for no reason and saying "quality" lol

I've been looking at the ones from faneau a lot. I've seen some pretty good reviews and for the price.
I know a lot of people hate on the 'made in China' bit but the thing is even the big brand stuff is usually made there too. And a lot of the manufactures have realized they can copy stuff and sell it cheaper but it's the same quality.
Eventually will get one but much more important accessories are needed first, like a chronograph and maybe a Kestrel.
Chrono will be next big purchase as it will really help with reloading
