Canucks Operator Elite – stripped rail screw hole on the frame. Options?

I have a Canucks Operator Elite that I’ve had for about a year. I’ve only put under 100 rounds through it (shot it maybe 5 times total).

I mounted a Romeo red dot on the Picatinny rail. One day I noticed the whole rail was loose. When I got home and removed the red dot, I found that two of the four screws that mount the rail to the gun were already completely out—they had just been hidden under the optic mount.

I removed the rail, put Loctite on the screws, and tried to reinstall it. The problem is the hole for the rear most screw is completely stripped. I can’t tighten it at all.

Has anyone dealt with this on a Canucks / Operator Elite? What are some options to fix it? Or ask for manufacturer to help?

Those Turk receiver materials are cheap, I had the same issue. I sent it back and they set larger screws in

I had this problem with another Turk Canadian brand, they covered shipping back

Can probably find the spec for the screw and replace it

You can try to retap it but I agree with contacting O'Dell

Stepping up in screw size may be your only option if warranty is no longer offered.

This may require increasing the countersink size for the larger screws.

Perhaps use a helicoil to repair. You can get clone coils on Amazon.

Contact Odell for warranty work or just toss some red Loctite in there and bond it forever.

I have the same shotgun and the pic rail came lose for me too recently after shooting probably 500+ rounds a year and a half later.

I just took off the red dot and re-tightened down all the rail screws to 20 inch lbs. with a torque screwdriver.

I would probably email O'Dell Engineering because they have good warranty service with their Canuck shotguns. If the shotgun is still under warranty then they should fix it for free.

I'll contact O'Dell, but it looks like I'll have to pay for the return shipping even if they honor the warranty.  I did use a Wheeler torque screwdriver. I initially set it to 15 in-lb, but the screw hole stripped well before the screwdriver reached the set torque. I then backed it down to 10 in-lb for the other screws. It's interesting that, for a shotgun, the rail is secured with such tiny screws. Even my Ruger 10/22 uses larger screws.
