Buy recommendations 22 Plinker

Good day all, just received my pal right at the 28 day mark for valid which I’m happy about. My question is looking for a 22 for range target for my15 year son and myself.
Thoughts are derya TM-22 metal or a Ruger 22 custom like the Archangel

Imo I wouldn't go for the arch angel stock. Have heard mixed reviews. If you really want an ar style 22 I would just buy the tm22. If you want real good reliability and accuracy I'd mod out a 22 with a scope more geared towards hunting/accuracy.

Exactly this. I love my TM22, it scratched that itch.

But I think Ill buy a 10/22 here eventually as well, just for the ability to upgrade and mod everything. I have already been upgrading my new Savage Axis in 308. Added a rail and picatiny bipod, and added some weight to the stock to tame recoil a bit. Epoxy and lead shot method. I may eventually put it in a custom stock, but im in no rush to do so as its a hunting gun that will be used and abused anyway.

Now the next rifle I buy will be the Ruger American 2 Ive been eyeballing. Out the box it is set up how I want. I'm getting it in 7PRC, it will be my sheep hunting rifle, and long distance Elk. That one I will be keeping as light as possible as I will be putting on alot of miles in the high county.

But Definitely buying a 10/22 as another plinker. I dont need it honestly as I have 3 22LR, the TM22, a Scorpio bolt, and an old savage single shot. But I am going to buy one just because they are nice guns and reliable, despite the others being pretty dang reliable too.

My TM22, I may get 1-2 misfeed or jam per 1000 now as I have it dialed in and shot probaly 5-6K through it this year. Once broken in they get alot better than straight out the box, but even then I only had a few jams/misfeed the first couple times out. First time was the worst, but wasnt too bad honestly. It was mostly due to using cheap federal lead round nose. Mine eats anything but those cheap lead, the Copper plated hollow point by federal work fine. But she really loves CCI minimags or Stingers
