Meet up Lower Mainland Shooting Buddy

Im a 47m professional and my main shooting buddy has been AWOL for much of this year.

I have been bringing some of my other friends to the range but they arent committed so they usually just come out once and that's it. My wife will come if I drag her, but it's not really her thing.

Im looking for someone to go to the range with. I have a membership at Thompson Mountain Sportsmen Association in Pitt Meadows.

Message me if you live in the Lower Mainland and want to go shooting with me sometime. I've got shotguns, semis, lever actions, and bolt action rifles. Everything but handguns as I relatively recently got my PAL.

Starting shooting matches, you will make friends who are committed fairly quickly and you'll also become a better shooter. You do not need gucci gear, deep pockets or crazy time investment to have a great time.

  • I think every major range in the lower mainland now has an NRL22 contingent, with regular practices and matches. Mission, chilliwack, poco, TMSA, Abby for certain. This is a huge growing sport and very active, with some clubs (such as TMSA) also having more casual sub-disciplines for rimfire shooting.
  • TMSA has a pretty active IPSC shotgun club and I believe they are running black badge courses for shotgun now (at least that's what I heard, reach out to them).
  • Mission and Chilliwack both have IDPA/Tac-Pistol matches, which allow for lever/rimfire rifles in place of pistols.
  • Mission, Chilliwack, Poco, host DSS multigun matches (no pistol necessary) as well as more informal club level matches.
  • Abby runs dynamic shotgun matches a couple times a year.

TMSA and Chilliwack I believe also have Speed Steel Challenge style monthly informal matches - basically timed speed shooting at steel targets. It is quite enjoyable IMO. Any handgun or semi-auto rifle in typical handgun/22LR calibre will be suitable. In fact next match at TMSA is this Saturday. PAL needed only.
