Feets / Collection / My build Magpul on a Remington 700

Upgraded the chassis on my Remington 700 from
stock with Kwik Klip magazines to this. Pretty sweet upgrade imo. Big fan of the 700. This is the Hunter magpull chassis. Great weight as well. Found it on gunpost for $400 shipped. Sold my old stock for $75.

Used this combo for years before upgrading to a Tikka. It's a fantastically simple and efficient setup for hunting or a rangetoy.

my $0.02 on possible upgrades:

  • Get a MDT metal 5rounder (wait till their blackfriday sales)
  • KRG SV bolt knob if you want a little more purchase on the bolt handle
  • thread barrel for brake

Thanks for the suggestions. What model of tikka?

I also picked up a tikka tact in 308 which I’m liking other than the weight of it… takes some getting used to.
I got a pretty sweet deal on it through gunpost - I know they’re overpriced. Lol

Muzzle break would be just for aesthetics I presume?

T3x lite stainless for hunting purposes. I tossed it a KRG echo and got it threaded for a brake and put a spearhead machine tracker brake on it.

I also picked up a tikka tact in 308 which I’m liking other than the weight of it… takes some getting used to.

That's a target rifle, so you want it to be heavy. Having said that, it is the same footprint as any other T3x so you can always take it out of the Tact A1 chassis and throw it in pretty much any T3x stock or chassis on the market. Realistically the Tact A1 is the CTR in a heavy chassis.

Muzzle break would be just for aesthetics I presume?

Nope. Fully functional. Muzzle brakes help reduce recoil as well as helping stabilize the rifle. You should be able to look through your scope and see your impacts downrange every time you pull that trigger and be ready to shoot again without coming off the rifle or having to "get on target" again after each shot.

Nice. I looked at the T3x stainless. Very nice gun.

Wasn’t sure of the efficacy of a muzzle brake on a .243 but that’s good food for thought re tracking the hit points.

I'll pretty much run brakes on any centerfire rifle until hell freezes over and we get access to suppressors.
