you can legally buy it since you have a restricted PAL, but it's also daylight robbery so probably don't

Agreed, OP should offer the guy at less 500 more, don't want to take advantage of the poor guy, i bet he doesn't even know what he has!

What is the right price for these setup?

$700 less. There is a well known importer who can bring in a restricted version for you.

Lol. I read that as "$700 or less", also sadly accurate...

Don’t buy from scalpers, wait until it comes back in stock for retail otherwise you’re just supporting this habit where Canadian gun owners are just screwing each other over

Got call from rso range and said same thing.

Should not be legal to buy it at that price

Dont fall for these scalper prices

Plus wait for the Non Restricted version so you can shoot on Crown land and hunt with it

And the biggest factor is the Government wont know you have it

Thats right, gives everyone more freedom to use em

I'm sorry to tell you this but they can easily find out you have it

Dont give me that BS about verification/dealer records of purchase than PAL verification/tracing between who you bought and sold with with and who's PAL you verified in an X amount of time, it doesnt work like that

You must really take the bait that Rob from the CCFR put out

Ian Runkle went over it as well. I'll trust a lawyer who does a lot for the community instead of someone off Reddit.

You do you dude

Not buying this fear mongering

The only way they going this far if the NR was literally found a murder scene

That is it FULL STOP

Yes, but you shouldn't buy it

Not only because the dude selling it is a scalper, but the rifle is also restricted, which comes with its own set of issues

Yes thanks

Might as well get an 18.5” barrel. An extra 2.5 inches is so worth not having to deal with restricted status

I was shy before post bcz kinds dumb question who know alot and everything.
I think I learned alot from this community and their experience.
Helped me and 100% help other community members like who is or will be in same situation.
Thank you everyone for comment means alot to me.

I would discourage buying from scalpers.

You are eligible and legally you can buy one. This guy’s trying to rip people off so don’t.

Also get an SKS instead. An SKS + a Beretta 1301/A300 Patrol/Benelli M4 if you want to spend some money on quality gear (pay less than $3200 for both).

u/kwc_king 16d ago

Thanks. I love shooting sks for fun and use s680 for trap.
I love M4 ❤️❤️
Thanks for suggestions, 100 agree

If you want to skimp on the semi shotgun part but not be stuck with some POS get a TNA VR-66. Turkish but my personal experience was stellar, probably because it’s quite difficult to fuck up an inertia action. Can legally shoot it with an extended mag tube and just dump 2-3/4” shells all day!

When are we supposed to see NRs show up on shelves and retailers?

2

You can get this restricted model for 1000 less than what hes asking

No (obvious) reason you cannot. The seller will submit the transfer to the RCMP and if they approve then it's yours.

You've already been told the price is high. Perhaps it is but if you really want it then I say go for it. If you can afford it then convert your money to fun....

Yes right thanks. Learned alot from this post.

Not trying to be a dick in anyway here just genuine advice. If you aren't aware of the legalities of purchasing a restricted firearm while being a RPAL holder. I would probably hold off on buying a restricted firearm and make sure you understand all of the legal responsibilities of owning said firearm. Because there's a lot more rules you have to follow and procedures that need to be done then just buying the gun and going to shoot it like a non restricted.

I'm personally staying away from all semis until further notice

7

u/Dark_Dysantic 16d ago

Because they may get banned or because there are conflicting reviews on these new ones coming out?

-3

u/Canuck083 16d ago

For both reasons

3

u/kwc_king 16d ago

Why??

1

u/Canuck083 16d ago

Mainly because of the chances of getting banned and secondly because they both have some history of quality issues. There is a detailed review of Makasi on reddit you can check out. Carmel on the other hand had a recall before and it doesn't cycle all types of ammo properly as mentioned in some reviews. Some people criticize it for the pencil barrel and the amount of polymer it has. I'm not saying they are bad or don't buy it. I'm just expressing my own opinion.
