Yeah that sounds really low. Plus once all your benefits, union dues, taxes and pension deductions hit, you're looking at a realistic take home hourly rate at like $25-$27/hr and for what they're asking... There are so many gov jobs at the provincial and federal level that have less workload at the same, or even higher pay.
Hard pass for me.

Yeah, people slander govt jobs and public servants all day long because they do jack shit and get paid a ton, while niche but important (for their respective industry) government jobs like this that requires specific expertice gets paid pennies.
And people wonder why the ON CFO is short staffed... I remember meeting them at TACCOM after the great 2022 handgun rush. For the shenainagans they go through they don't get paid enough imo.

Every single provincial ministry in Ontario is being run this way, and has been for the last decade. The average person has no idea how badly hollowed out our province's public service has become.

I make more material handling in a fucking warehouse, job is hot sweaty and somewhat dangerous but a pay cut for this kind of responsibility? Fuck that. Actually seems low Key insulting.

If you’re bilingual, balanced in thought and practice, and someone who will adhere to the spirit of the law (along with the letter of), please do. It would be a great service to the province.

Maybe they're canning the person who doesn't do their job, and in return we won't be waiting forever for renewals etc. I know... I'm dreaming...
