Oof, alot im but Im a store haha so that might be cheating lol.

In my personal safe i have

.22lr, .223 7mm mag 7mm Backcountry (which i might sell, im not sure yet, i kinda want a 45-70 instead) 20 gauge And of course a 12 gauge.

u/GasMan1021 18d ago

Why sell the back country? Curious to hear some info on this one as i dont know anyone who has one yet.

7

u/LumberjackCDN Gold'n Loan Outfitters & Pawn 18d ago

I like my tikka 7mm mag, and my 7mm mag is all decked out with a vx5hd and custom dial. The back country isnt very different from it other than my weatherby is light and has the 20" barrel, which is nice in the woods, but i dont need to shoot over 3000 fps at deer that are 20-40 yards away. Buuut i do have 15 boxes of berger on hand that i won with it. So like ammo security is nice lol

3

u/GasMan1021 18d ago

Yeah id keep it until the ammo is gone haha hard to not justify using it when ammo is so available for you.

u/Lumindan 18d ago

45-70 levers are hella cool just saying 😉

I know we have a marlin trapper in right now and its hard not to bring it home

.22LR, .223, .308, 9mm, 12ga

That's all.

u/Alpha_Whiskey327 18d ago

Yeah. I started out like this. NATO rounds work for me because I could buy bulk fmj for plinking. From this list I added 357 and 44 mag levers for space cowboy funsies. This will always be my core list I think. Always available, cross compatible, friends all shoot the same plus their own speciality on top but all keep this menu at minimum.

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist 18d ago

You’ve got the basics covered. Nothing else you’d like to add?

6

u/Relevant_Diver_3228 18d ago

.500 s&w magnum. I have one it is so much fun to shoot. I have a bighorn armoury lever rifle. Looking at your list you like big calibers so you should look into getting one.

1

u/jimmythemortician 18d ago

Not really, I have a couple others but nothing that I would consider "in stock".

1

u/holdencaulfield1983 18d ago

Same, just the common ones for me.

.22 mag, 9mm, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r, 12g

Next would probably be 308 but I feel like I have that covered with my mosin, love the dang thing she's my baby

1

u/Iokua_CDN 18d ago

Still a couple 308 semis out there! Could be a neat little  niche for you to own a 308!

7

u/GasMan1021 18d ago

25 Creedmoor. Love a 25 cal and in a short action just makes sense.

3

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist 18d ago

I’m currently debating 25CM vs 6CM. I was a little concerned there may be too much overlap with the 6.5 that I already have, and rifle options weren’t as numerous at the time.

Which 25CM rifle are you considering?

1

u/GasMan1021 18d ago

Probably just going to rebarrel my Rem 700 308 honestly. Only ones I see are Fierce, new Savage 110 and Weatherby 307 and I am not interested in any of those setups right now. In the end it is just cheaper to rebarrel anyways.

30 carbine, 3006, 6.5jap, 6.5x55, 6.5x52 carcano, 22lr, 7.5swiss, 7.5MAS, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r, 7.62x38r, 7.62x25, 303, 8mm Mauser, 9mm, 45auto, 38S&W, 12ga, I think thats it right now?

So many to add... so many haha 7.7jap, or maybe 7.35Carcano

6

u/Borealbound 18d ago

A man of taste

3

u/GreenMan165 18d ago

Damn you have some fun calibres in there, definitely go 7.7 Jap or 7.35 Carcano, you must... for the preservation of historical rifle shooting!

Also that means you own an 1895 Nagant do you? That's sweet!

2

u/ThePoeticJester 18d ago

Yeah I do! Been working on handloads for it if ai could ever get range time

6

u/owndcheif 18d ago

Honestly my mares Legg and my Henry are the two rifles I regret. It’s fun to shoot the first time.. but in reality it’s useless and I’d sell mine cheap

I’ve got 4 but likely if I added one it would be replacing my 30-06 with something bigger - 300 win mag possibly. Most of my hunting and fun are 22lr and 12 gauge…. I’ve just realized I might be a fudd lmao

For years I kept it simple to make stockpiling easier.

22lr, 12ga and 7.62x39

However I recently aquired , and fell in love with , a Henry Homesteader. So now 9mm is on the list.

In Canada: .22 LR .303 British  12 gauge  7.62x39 .31 round ball and powder 9x19

In the US: .22 LR 5.56/.223 7.62x39 7.62x25  9x19 12 gauge .457 Roundball and powder .450 Adams

Some assorted 8mm Mauser, 7.62x54r and a bit of .25 ACP even though I sold that mouse gun and traded the Mosin for an SKS.

.22lr, .223/556 .38/.357 7.62x39 .308 and 12ga I’ve contemplated adding 9mm but not really impressed with anything on the market currently. If by the grace of god we ever get pistols back I’d pick up a 9mm. Otherwise I can’t see myself getting anything else. Except more of everything in the calibers I have already

Next I would like 416 Rigby, and maybe another long range cartridge to reach further then my 308win, would also like 556 but in Chinada there are not many things left legal in that SuUupeEeeer devaAastAting cartridge.... And 30-06 with a m1 garand

2

u/GreenMan165 18d ago

.22LR, 12 Gauge, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r

It's been that way for quite a while, used to have 9mm, .303, and .410. Those calibres may/will come back again in the future. My next calibre is planned to be a .308, if I don't fold and end up with one of those silly 9mm bolt guns first.

2

u/coniferslav 18d ago

In order of priority:

  1. 7.62x39

  2. 12 Ga

  3. .223

  4. .308

  5. .22 LR

2

u/Neat_Imagination2503 18d ago

Not nearly as many op options, but they are stacked super deep.
22lr

  1. 308
  2. 7.62x39
  3. 30-06
  4. 22LR
  5. 12ga

For commonly used firearms. I have some smatterings of 20ga and older European cartridges and .303 and such as well, but my top five by a wide margin are about as basic as it gets, and they're all I stock in bulk. At some point I'll add a belted magnum, but not 100% sure what, yet.

I have a fair amount of 7.62×39 (spam can) and I will probably buy a bunch of non-corrosive 7.62×54R in the near future for my SVT-40.

I have .22LR for my TM22 and 9mm for my two pistols.

I also have 7.62×25 for a Tokarev I sold before the freeze... I wanted to get another but alas, I couldn't find one in time.

I have some waterfowl steel pellets 3in 12ga shells for cobra chicken hunting.

1

u/Milkbagistani 18d ago

I started simple with the traditional Canadian lineup of 22lr, 12 ga, 7.62x39.

Then expanded to NATO rounds of 9mm, 5.56 x 45, 7.62 x 51.

Then I started playing in the milsurp world and things got spendy quickly with 8mm Mauser, 303 British, 6.5 Carcano, 6.5 Dutch, 7.62 x 54r.

Maybe I should buy an Arisaka and a Swede Mauser to complete the expensive 6.5 ammo lineup On the other hand I am almost fully equipped to LARP a game of Axis and Allies.

6 but I can only use 5. I have a bunch of 308 with nothing to shoot it from. I also don't have a purpose for it either, so it's not a priority. I'll probably get 2 more 22s before a 308. Hahaha.

1

u/WarheadVideogameDev 18d ago

.308, .30-06, .22lr, 9mm, .45ACP(.455 Webley technically but I mainly just buy .45ACP, hand loading the .455 can be fun tho), .41 long colt, .357 mag, 7.62x39, .223/5.56, 12 gauge, 30-30, 7.62x54, 6.5cm and I think that’s it.

I have too many guns.
