Application / Regulation advice Traffic stop
Hello just wondering if I’m legally transporting a firearm (non restricted) and I am pulled over by a police officer am i under obligation to inform the officer i have a firearm in the vehicle?

If they ask you, you should not answer that question as you have every right not to. All you have to do is to provide insurance, registration, driving license, breath sample if ordered. You are not obligated to provide any of these either: where you are coming from, where you are going, what you are doing here, what speed were you going, who is with you in the vehicle, what you do for work, none of that stuff, i.e. nothing for the cop to write about in his report. Just say calmly and politely that you prefer to remain silent or such. People need to stop talking themselves into trouble. You might think you can talk yourself out of a ticket, but it is an illusion. Understand that all this chit-chat is simply gathering the evidence and gaining reasonable grounds for further investigation. Know your rights, use them.
