Criminals can now hang out and see who has nice guns at home. Smart

Liberals love to give their friends kids the sweet contracts...

I mean, Ford just bumped up speed limits in Ontario. They're going to need to update signage - and what's his family business? I don't think favouring personal interests is exclusive to one political party.

The lineup of unlicensed criminals with US smuggled guns stretches around the block.

u/hunterofsteelhead 21d ago
They arent allowed to turn their firearms into this program
22
u/4r4nd0mninj4 21d ago
Criminals are expressly prohibited from the program. Only licensed owners of lawfully purchased property are affected. 🤷♂️

It’s for OUR SAFETY! THE GOVERNMENT SAID SO!

u/4r4nd0mninj4 20d ago
When requested by the courts to provide evidence to back up their "public safety" position, the government hid behind the Evidence Act and said "trust us bro". 🤷♂️

You mean “Pick Up”

When the US did this Brandon Herrera was out trying to buy things from people in the line. Pretty funny video on YouTube.

R3tards.... I reserve the use of this word for the kind of people who would implement such a retarded-ass program, for those who are inexcusably stupid enough to think itll help in any way... and those who would willingly hand their guns into the government. After all the shit they've pulled in the last few years.. and thats just ours!! Thats not even mentioning all the bullshit that governments have done to THEIR OWN PEOPLE throughout the entirety of human history. Absolutely monumental displays of retardation going on.... just blows my mind.

Political interference/manipulation to keep the status quo. They don't actually care about Canadians.
2
u/NIBLZ_HAMSTR 20d ago
100% they dont care... changes need to be made to our system to give these people a chance to make their little difference.. serve the country.. and fuck off before they become career parasites.

How tf do they expect this to work anyways? If I had a GSG 16 (which I dont, horrible range accident, RIP) it couldnt leave my house without express approval. Do they arrest everyone who shows up? Crazy honeypot
2
u/K0bra_Ka1 20d ago
You have a specified appointment time and location. That is your express approval to transport these firearms in the box they provide to you ahead of time.

u/NoVariation6148 20d ago
Exactly, get a notice, pick your date and time. They ship you a box with a trigger lock strap and provide instructions for drop off. You leave it in your car/truck, they come out and pick it up. They enter it in the system and off you go and get an email confirmation.
Depending on your payment preferences you'll get an EFT or mailed cheque.

Why would anyone participate until after the Supreme Court decision? Makes 0 sense to me, and to anyone saying oh I'll just buy a different gun with the money I get back is completely missing the point.

I dont think you can drop off unregistered or no serial # criminal stuff. As far as I gather, its only to drop off legally obtained now deemed illegal to possess firearms. For pennies on the dollar as I gather.
If it does actually go through without another extension, I'll hand over my AR lower frame cut in half. I only bought it to get in a potential deal like the 80s when they banned AK (mostly) and barrels under 4". So I could get prohib status like they did. And continue to buy cool range toys if I want to. I literally bet $200 on black.

Wasn’t the amnesty extended? And the confiscation put on hold pending the SCC case? Or did I miss something?
5
u/Spiritual_Length9536 21d ago
It's still going. Amnesty is extended. This whole thing is a gong show. They gotta get those numbers up for the big photo op.

how tf do you even define “assault” in assault styled weapon. Because if we are going by dictionary definition most objects can be assault style. I can turn my coat into a whip and it would be a assault style coat

Imagine giving the government justification to keep their program running
Yikes.
1
u/Spiritual_Length9536 21d ago
Is that how it works? They just sit there waiting for appointments? It's what I figured but the "un registered" firearms being a second line was confusing.
1
u/Bambam4040 19d ago
You get a email saying they agreed to pay you and then you agree and then book the time and 45 days after they get the guy they will
Pay you I hope1
u/goodfleance 21d ago
I'm positive it's only for people who registered in the program. I don't think there's any provision for walk-in/dropoffs
