Best grouping?

So just curious what woukd you guys say is my best grouping I am a new shooter and im using a vortex rimfire 2-7 on a tikka t1x abd i can barely see the targets at 100 yards but I was thinking the 20 grain hirnady was my best

For what you’re shooting, these are all bad groupings. Look into other more glaring issues like mechanical defects or significant bad habits when shooting before chasing the gaps between ammo types.

Yea I would start at a closer range and work back till you’re doing much closer groups. Those are good rifles, I think with a couple sessions of practice you’ll improve fast. If you take a video of your self shooting, just blur out face and show trigger pull and your grip, we can probably give you some advice there.

I’m betting it’s not the rifle, or the ammo…but there’s definitely a problem somewhere.
Make sure your scope if attached correctly, and don’t zoom in too close.

Practice at 50m until you get really tight groups, then extend out to 100m. If you're a new shooter then it's just practicing fundamentals. I'd recommend a Mapleseed course if you have access to one.

There's 0 lessons or courses were i am im I na small toen of like 9k people then next closest town is 140 km north abd there not much bigger

Hmmm, I have a CZ 457 heavy barrel 17hmr with a Vortex Diamondback 4-16x44 scope.

I don't know what you are shooting, but your results are awful and unremarkable. I don't mean to be an ass, just being honest. The 17 hmr round flies very flat out to your 100 yard target and is a very accurate round.... Lol, the ultimate gopher round. You should expect extremely tight groupings.

So yeah, it could be you need better optics on your gun, assuming you were shooting from a rest like a table.

Yeah im using a tikka t1x one a bench with a bag but at 65 yards i cant even see the bullseye bc my reticle completely covers it I think i need new scope

Your 2-7x scope is the problem.

25 yards, yes.

50 yards, yes.

100 yards, not for most people.

If you are hoping to plink off gophers and rabbits at 100 yards, I would get a minimum 12x scope.

No my longest range is 65 yards but im using 100 to see what my gun likes My t3x 308 win im doing deer first time 250 yards max range 200 yard 0 with a leopuld freedom 2-9x but im thinking put my 3-9 on the hmr the 2-7 on the 22 abd getting a x20 for the 308

First and foremost you need to practice more. If you're a brand new shooter bring your target into 50 yards and get sub inch groupings with that while you figure out your trigger pulled and breathing.

Second you need a better optic. I've got the crossfire 2 on my 10/22 as a rabbit/grouse gun and it does the trick but the sight picture is tough passed 100. Not that the scope is bad, per se, it's just not up to the task you're throwing at it.   Rim fire precision shooting warrants good optics if that's what you're aiming to do - tiny bullet needs tiny placement.

The problem I had with my 17hmr is that there is no match grade ammo and it’s very light. I could shoot a bug hole at 50y but it got sloppy at 100y but I did get better groups than this. I can get much better results with my .22 using match grade ammo.

Ya, fix parallax 2-7 is really not great, its more a close range plinking/hunting scope, you are shooting more or less 2.5moa rn its not that bad but you and the gun are really let down by that scope

Yeah i am regretting all my scope choices bc I listened to a friend even my leopold 3-9 I regret for 250 yards im going to put the 3-9 on my 17 and get a up to 20x for my 308

Ya, your gun and ammo combo is plenty capable to shoot sub 3/4 moa don't let the scope limit what you can do

Throw those photos into an AI and it will spit out all the grouping info for you. If you label different loads, it will also provide a comparison and the statistical info. I've used Google's.
