How do you like this gun? I love love love the aesthetics but im not sure about the build quality and which caliber to get so I dont break the bank with ammo

I love it. Ruger makes a fine product, i have a few of their guns and theyre all great. A Tikka might edge it out very slightly at the price point, but you really cant go wrong with either.
I went with .308 specifically because theres more inexpensive ammo available than for other full size cartridges. I like norma range and training 150g fmj, but pmc bronze is another good option.
They also come in .223/5.56 if you want it for more of a range toy or coyote gun than for big game.

Is the Norma training any good? I’ve always leaned toward the PMC for cheap ammo just because it didn’t say training lol.

We have a few of em in the shop right now (not sure if i can mention more than that but dm me if youre interested). Theyre not tikka smooth but theyve got more features.

Do you find the MDT AICS mags have to be seated in just the right spot to feed? Mine is 6.5 Creedmoor and it’s been a bit sticky feeding with the same mags

Ive found you need to do the "AK rock" to make them seat properly, and didnt really have any problems after that. So i guess the answer is yes, but with a little practise I can find the spot pretty easily. (Giggity.)

Good to know!! I’ll give it a shot next time I’m out, thanks! Every rifle has its special sweet spot lol

I use the 12-round metal mag for 6.5 creedmoor from MDT. It has been working perfectly for the Ruger American Gen II. It also looks pretty nice, at least to me. Highly recommended.

I have almost the exact same setup on my gen2 predator down the the mag and scope, I used the monstrum low profile scope rings. Killer setup, what caliber?

.308, wanted to build it as versatile as I could for game, matches, and fucking around.

I also have (almost) this same setup. Cantilever PEPR scope rings but I also might lower them down, does feel a bit high. Mine is in 6.5CM and have that 20rd mdt mag with the bronze barrel
