Feets / Collection / My build Too paint or not to paint

Almost every gun I’ve ever painted I usually regretted it cause it looked like shit. But that being said I rushed it and didn’t do everything right. Im tossing up the idea of painting this nomad chassis for the 10/22 had Gemini help me out and honestly I love it but unsure if I can pull it off will use rustoleum ultra flat and vinyl stencils I can make with my cricut

I like paint with black attachments

Yeah I’m gonna go for that. Ai made it all camo and I got crafty in paint and made the parts I wanted black cause trying to get exactly what you want it to do is almost as painful as having a liberal government

Worst case scenario you strip the paint off and try again. Go for it, brother

All I see is some wood panelling

There’s no going back now I masked off all the black and got the black spots liquid masked. Let that dry and hit with the khaki it’s dry to the touch. Will let it sit overnight and lay in some more liquid mask in the morning before I spray the brown

I painted. I do not regret. So far lol. it’s looks pretty good! Little bit more clean up I’m gonna let it cure till tonight and lightly dust it with flat clear

Good shit man. Out of curiosity, how do you avoid that tacky-paint feeling? I am a complete noob when it comes to rattle cans. I assume curing and applying clear coat would take that feeling away?

Clear helps but it always feels like paint lol after it’s cured a few days a good scrub with some soapy water helps smooth it out and get rid of some of that sticky feeling

So I scrubbed it with warm soapy water to get rid of all my liquid mask leftovers and then hit it with some krylon Matte crystal clear. It doesn’t feel like tacky paint at all i was surprised. I did light coats of the clear from about a foot away and it’s got a nice sand blasted texture to it very pleased

Paint it dont try to make it perfect. Painted guns look better the more wear they have on them. I did the same thing with my renegade and I dont think I will try and do it perfect ever again.

I’ll paint it then take it for a walk on sling leash through the bush lol

I'm a sucker for god's plaid, so I'd do it.. on a side note, where'd you find that magazine/mag sleeve? Looks great with the Nomad chassis!

It’s a printed “base plate for the bx10 mags I mashed two files together I found and came up with this. If you search 10/22 nomad on cults3d you’ll find the file I might revisit it and make a hk style one aswell instead of the pmag

Im pretty sure you gotta get 15 headshots on the target before you can unlock that skin

I’d assume so I dont have one to try but it’s wide open at the bottom the stock bx mag fits it’s just tucked in there

Is that a G36k?

It’s the g36 we have at home. Rugger 10/22 in nomad chassis

Fully disassemble it and tape off the areas you don’t want painted. Don’t take shortcuts and it will look great.

For that I’d try soap masking

I’ve seen guys do that on stuff but not sure how you would do it in 3-4 colors on a multi sided object. I’ve also been seeing lots of hot glue on mags and then dyeing them but not sure if the glue would peel the paint off

Not quite the same but here is a nerf gun I painted like 10 years ago using that technique.

I also have some liquid mask I could use

You can always practice on a mag. Worst case if you dont like it, or how it wears, its only a magazine.
