Buy recommendations WINCHESTER SXP HYBRID VS BENELLI NOVA 3?

Hello!

i’m debating the 2, the Winchester SXP hybrid is listed at BP for 400, and the benelli nova 3 is $600, i’m not going to be using it much aside from hunting maybe a few times at max. There is $200 price difference but i’m having a hard time seeing a comparison for the 2 and what’s worth it to justify the price difference.

Any ideas / thoughts?

SXP is a good entry level gun. I killed many ducks and geese in my early years with it. It has a pump assist so the pump action is a tad faster. It feels different so some who already have a pump might take time to get used to it.

Nova 3 is a chunkier gun by feel. The Nova is probably better made but there's not a lot that can go wrong with the SXP either.

The $200 extra is justified though? And isn’t the NOVA 3 entry as well? And the thing i’m debating is the SXP has the assists so it might help when using it but again i heard benelli qualify is superior.

I've only shot the Nova a few times so can't give you a proper comparison except what I said.

One thing you should be aware of is that hunting, especially waterfowling will make you abuse a gun a lot so you can choose to go cheap because eventually you will upgrade or you can go more quality and try to take care of it. With my SXP I never really took care of it and threw it everywhere. It was a beater and it measured up.

Love my Benelli, the SXP was very creaky. Of course I'm using it for clays not hunting.

Creaky as in? like the build quality isn’t that great? Held them both instore the benelli is definitely chunky compared to the SXP. But reading reviews everyone praises the benelli for superiority in quality and buying it and forgetting about it breaking. One of the decision makers is the assist, does it really help when shooting or it’s just a preference?

I read about it online and people are saying it’s ultra entry, and SXP is better / has better features

Trust me the Nova is more than worth the difference

Nova, bombproof shotgun. Somewhere on Reddit is the story about a hunter dropping it in a pond and not finding it for a month or more. Simple wipe down, oil, no problem. When in the bush having a tough reliable tool is insanely important. You can find a great used Benelli for 4-5 hundred.

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t get a Winchester SXP. I can’t speak for the hybrid model, but my marine model couldn’t eject 3” shells out of the box. Thought it would maybe have a break in period, nope. That’s what I get for buying Turkish.

Benelli is a great quality brand
