Application / Regulation advice Oshawa Gun Club
Hey guys
I'm trying to get into Oshawa Gun and Skeet Club, but apparently they require a referral from an existing member and I don't know anyone who's a member
I was wondering if any existing member is here in the group and would be willing to help me out
Thanks in advance

In my personal experience, none of the clubs that require this are worth joining. Entirely Fudds, afraid of everything, and entirely too old and frustrating to be worth the time and effort. Old boys club mentality that’s too grating.
But that’s just me. YMMV.

Problem is almost all clubs in southern Ontario with any decent sized range are like this.

Oshawa is far from a fudd range lol, they have one of, if not the top sporting clay courses in the country.

Have you ever shot clays before? Join any tournament at Oshawa on scorechaser and go meet some people. They’re open to the public. I wouldn’t recommend going if it’s your first time shooting clay.

I'm in the same situation, just getting into this after having fun trying it earlier this summer. Now trying to figure out if and how I can join somewhere nearby to practice she get more experience.

Literally go to any one of their sporting clays events and meet some people, I shot one single skeet event there and got invited to join the club by the event director…

Every club I’ve seen do referrals by members is hard to get into without a member friend, if the range does public events attend them and you might get lucky and get exempt from that clause if they see you at their events and you give the right impressions(fat wallet and trustworthy face)
