Fix my gun Intimidated by modifying my SKS

Hey all.

I see all these really cool mods people have done to thier SKS.

Is there a good guide or tutorial recommendation you have for bubbaing these things up?

neuman metalworks makes a lot of sks stuff, and has some tutorials on their youtube

what were you looking to do? it's the most popular gun in canada so there's no shortage of videos really

Seconding Neumann Metalworx. I have their rear sight rail and upper handguard. That plus a cheap buttpad for the length of pull and a Vortex Crossfire (the irons suck) and the SKS gets 3x better.

The top handguard on some of them can be a real pain in the A$$ to remove

Get a good punch set, use the right size

when I first got my SKS, I was excited to modify it but then I realized it’s perfect the way it is.

The sooner you accept that the better.

If you do want to modify it without impacting the value of it, look into bad ace no drill or tap front sight rails.

Or just buy 2, one to keep as is and another to bubba haha

Badace tactical makes a cool scope mount that replaces the original rear sight, however i couldnt for the life of me get it to stay tight and hold zero. Would loosen up after a few rounds. Id keep it stock if i were u or change the chassis. Avoid permanent modifications so you can revert it to original.
