Like the magazine being spot welded means it’s just a small weld you could cut and it’s free, right? Anyone with welding experience able to correct or concur with me?

A tack is a small weld. A spot weld could potentially be in a hard to reach area, as its used to sort of sandwich two pieces of thin metal together. You'd probably have to drill it out, if you could even get a correct angle on it.

But it's possible they just got the terminology wrong and it's a small tack.

Spot welding uses pretty specialized equipment in specific circumstances. It's highly unlikely to come upon spot welding outside of a production line. I can virtually guarantee it's just mixed up terminology.

Nah homie. Not worth it. 6300 bucks can get you so much more then a used, single shot rifle. Especially if you intend to go shooting with it

I will say no due to the magazine bee welded for "single" shot use in the grand scheme of thing's, it was a dumb idea to do it in the first place I wouldn't spend more then 1k on a single shot 308 that is what it is now and that aint it. Yes could you "undue" all the bad sure but you will end up devaluing the firearm more or makeing it just un operable. I would say this firearm is like a car without a title only worth it's value in scap metal or spare parts.

I've seen them for cheaper and in better condition on gunpost. I'd also only buy a hunter to have it converted into a BR Galil by a competent gunsmith.

Honestly, I’d rather have this than a Turkish 308 with shoddy build quality. Plus it has a very robust AK platform.

I had a valmet hunter years ago. It's cool because of what it is but it's really not a great shooting gun. I would never pay 6400 for one.

I noticed this the other day and was tempted to post it on here for someone who might be interested. Too bad about the magazine. I guess prices on Valmets have dropped quite a bit lately with new semis showing up. I remember seeing one for sale last year for 20k.

Its a shame more didn't get imported. I would love an AK platform since the Backland Comp and Mk15 basically scratch my AR itch, but not my AK one.
