News / Politics / Activism Assuming the coming Supreme Court challenge rules in the governments favour, are we expecting OIC #4?

Worst case scenario, the Supreme Court ruling rules in favour of the government, deciding all previous bans were just.

What do we expect? Another OIC wrapping up the remaining semi-autos by model?

New legislation announced banning firearms by newly defined features?

What better way to legitimize the government's position than by ruling in their favor?

Yea I get that but why not just do that by dismissing the application right off the bat?

Because ruling in the governments favor means the issue will not be challenged again. It solidifies the government position as "right" and any dissent on the subject can be dismissed by pointing to the SCC verdict. Dismissing the application leaves room for doubt or ambiguity. Ruling in the government's favor does not.
