News / Politics / Activism Assuming the coming Supreme Court challenge rules in the governments favour, are we expecting OIC #4?

Worst case scenario, the Supreme Court ruling rules in favour of the government, deciding all previous bans were just.

What do we expect? Another OIC wrapping up the remaining semi-autos by model?

New legislation announced banning firearms by newly defined features?

Carney basically said last shooting they need to go through the “legal process” for banning, ie no more OICs until the SSC decides if it’s legit.

If it is legit, the next OIC will come soon after.

If it’s not legit, I expect they would begin the 18 month legislation like the handguns did.

We are now in a strange limbo state where only RCMP FRT swaps are possible fast bans - see my poor N4S that was lost in a boating accident.

So assuming a future OIC is in the works. Are you thinking it will be limited to semi-auto stanag pattern rifles, or wider reaching?

Semi auto shotguns. (Heard a rumour the RCMP has a list of 2500 ready to go. Coincidentally there are ~2500 models of semi shotguns according to Armalytics)

That would be significant. I’d expect another large outcry from the hunting community.

The WW2 rifle ban was significant. I thought there was an understood line in the sand before, but it's been kicked away to nothing now.

It was also pretty random.

Ban the M1 carbine, leave the M1 Garand.

Ban the AG42 but not the SKS.

Ban the Rasheed but not the G43.

I feel the g43 was an oversight. The SKS is protected due to its popularity.

Not banning something due to how popular it is or banning something due to public opinion defines how stupid liberals are. Can they use logic or facts ever?

Well they claim it's due to popularity with natives for "hunting".

I'm more inclined to believe natives keep them as a deterrent to government tyranny and over reach.
