100%. I built mine out for an extra 1k (lpvo, chassis, some mags, bolt mod, camo job, etc) and would do it 10 times over before buying a 2500$ rifle like the backland or Makasi.
Thats not to say I wouldn't like a 556 but I cant justify spending 3500 to 4k on a rifle that would cost 1500 in the states.
By built i dont mean buying each part and assembling one, I got a brand new french tickler sks for 600, and a big list of mods to it, whole thing for less than 2k said and done with about 1k rounds. I can send you a Pic if you want
if you're looking to build though, then you might want to look at 10/22. you can build an entire 10/22 without using any Ruger components (although the 2026 update models are now an actual solid base to start from).
Chinese and russian are pretty much on par quality wise. Allegedly the Chinese are slightly more accurate but the Russians have nicer wood. All in all theyre a 2-3 moa gun, theyre designed for war not precision. Only thing id say is make sure you buy a chrome lined one, helps prevent fouling in the barrel from corrosive ammo. All Chinese are chrome lined, and Russia started chrome lining their barrels in 1951. So I'd go 1952 or later.
Yes it looks like you have a spending problem like many of us in the sub. Between the guns and optics and ammo, this is a very expensive hobby.
Buy ammo in bulk and wait for sales to pop up. They happen all the time. End of summer deals. Every holiday has a sale. Sometimes even just waiting for sales to buy your next gun will help you wait it out… or when a sale is on it will make you think you have to buy a gun because you are “saving money”

What shell holder you using on the 590r? I designed a adaptor to put a cheap amazon shell holder on the stock of my chisel it fits nice with 3 m3 screws through the holes in the stock
Nice! I might have to pick one up mines the folding chisel so can’t have shells on side if you wanna fold it I’m not a fan of folding stuff but I wanted the few extra features from the chisel model. enjoy man
I love it! Just go for the .44. I also hmm'd n haaa'd about which to do. The .44 doesn't kick as much as you might think... and IF you want to hunt or other things than its good for that too. Im happy I went with the .44

You got a 12ga, a 22lr and a 44mag, also great variety in caliber
What you are missing? Action wise, of course bolt actions and straight pulls. Caliberwise, you are lacking an intermediate rifle round like 223 or 7.62 x39, or a full power rifle round like 308, 6.5 creedmoor or 3006 (choosing the most economical rounds)
For the next next gun? If you have an interest in bolt actions, grabbing a good one in 223 or 7.62 x39, or in 308 or 6.5 creedmoor would be a great way to practice shooting further distance. 7.62 x39 is going to be the worst at really long distance, and 223 will be better but worse than a full power rifle, but both will be half the price per round. Or go full power rifle caliber and go further!
Or if bolt actions don't interest you, feel free to grab another semi auto in one of those calibers! Less options for 308 or 3006, but there are a few for 223 and the classic Sks for 7.62 x39
