Red dot recommendations

Looking for a red dot for my tm22 pro.

I see the vortex crossfire is on sale for 180$. Still seems a little pricey for the features that it comes with. Open to some recommendations if you guys have any!

Unpopular opinion: Get an Amazon cheap red dot . The 22 recoil won’t hurt it and if it breaks you can buy 3 for the price of one vortex (this is coming from a guy who has a vortex crossfire on his tm22 lol)

Yeah, pretty much any airsoft rated stuff will be fine on a Turkish .22. It’s gentle enough and there’s no need to spend more on accessories than you did on the gun. We’re not talking a match-grade firearm that would justify the top optics, anything that stays attached to the rails and doesn’t lose zero very often would suffice.

Crossfire is a great red dot for a reasonable price IMO. I have a few of them. Vortex did just come out with an even more budget friendly version, the Triumph, which is around 160$. A Bushnell TR-25 is also a decent option if you are looking for something budget.

Thanks it's not really about the price. I like the idea of the auto on and off though may get the triumph just for this reason.

A friend of mine picked one up for his 10/22, I helped him out it all together. It seems decent, but definitely "feels" like a cheaper optic compared to the Crossfire. He has been very happy with it though!

I do believe the triumph has shake awake as well (the old crossfires did not, so we stopped stocking them until the refresh came out, since the triumph technically had more features for less money)

I got a Crossfire for my TM22 Flash and have no regrets. If you decide to move to a higher calibre the Crossfire can be left as is or moved to your new rifle without issue

I'd consider the Trash-25 the minimum, but if you can afford a Vortex, a SIG dot, or a Holosun 403, they're better and most of them have lifetime warranty as opposed to 1 year from Bushnell.

But they're fundamentally the same product of "floating red dot in a tube". If you have really bad astigmatism the dot will look weird, so look into 1x prisms if that's going to bother you.

You could probably get a nicer Vortex red dot like the Sparc or Strikefire used on Gunpost for that price. There are dozens of them on there, and unlike a cheap Amazon dot, you still get the unlimited lifetime warranty

I have the vortex red dot on mine. This red dot came with the vortex venom 1-6 combo scope. I love it!!

Vortex Triumph is the crossfire successor from Vortex. It fixes all the shortcomings of the crossfire (no shake awake, 1 moa clicks instead of 0.5 moa), and MSRP is LESS than the crossfire.

Vortex triumph has shake awake and is cheeper than the crossfire. But what do you really expect for 180$? At 180$ you are at the rock bottom tier for non airsoft/toy optics.

This is the real answer, get something that’s actually intended for firearms and this is as cheap as you can go.

Plus it’s suitable for using on something else if you want to move it to a center fire and you’ve got an actual warranty if it breaks.

I had a Feyachi clone of the TRS-25 and it fell apart after about 4 months. The brightness dial came apart when I tried to replace the battery.

Replaced it with a Triumph and I'm pleased.

Gotenda recently launched their own house brand red dots for $99 called Vikings Raider. I’ve had no experience with these dots but they don’t sound bad for the price.

Are you set on a red dot? I used to be a red dot guy I still like them for some stuff but I’ve recently discovered lpvo’s and am in love with them. I’ve got a 1-4 cvlife on my 16 pro and it is awesome for up close and even out to 100 yards. I have iron wolf tm22 la with a 1-8 lpvo and it’s my favorite gun much crisper than a red dot can run it at 0 mag or if you need to crank it up you can

Like others have said Crossfire, tr-25, or the new triumph are all good options that can be moved over to something bigger later if you want to.

Good value for your dollar, be like $100ish

Holds zero reliably on a 12gauge with turkey loads, and despite the inane screeching of the Vortex Bros offers the same warranty

I just went cheap red dots for my 22 amazon special
